Are you using studio monitors?
Yep. I used to use Alesis M1 actives, but just upgraded to the Sonodyne SM100AK's, which will be used as my nearfield active monitors for.... well, hopefully a long time to come :)- puzl

Sonodyne SM100AK - Anyone use them?
I bought them anyway :) Arriving today, but I can't test them for a few days as i'm in the process of moving. Very excited to hear what they can do. -
Dubstep
The way i see it, there is original style UK dubstep from guys like Mala, Loefah, early Skream etc... massive sub bass slugs, extremely minimal, emphasis on space, roots in UK garage etc.. and then there's the horrific US-led chainsaw bass crap of people like Skrillex, Excision, Bar9, etc... it... -
Great places to check out new music - contribute to a list
http://www.boomkat.com Their "reviews" tend to be a bit hyperbole and because they're a store, they literally love everything... but there are samples for all releases and it's a great way to find new music every week. -
Where To Download Lossless Music
Quote: Seconded. Buy direct from the artist whenever possible, especially from sites like Bandcamp. -

Could I have tinnitus?
Most likely you don't have it. From what I understand, most people experience at least some mild ringing in their ears in a silent room. I actually had my ears de-waxed recently and became VERY sensitive to it. The more you think about it, the more your brain accentuates it. Go to bed, have a...- puzl

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Worst cover EVER but genuinely classic spacey electronic/italo from Milkways in the late 70s. -
Who actually hates music and doesn't even know why they spent so much money on headphones?
Hate music? I'm not sure how that is possible, genres-aside, but spending unhealthy amounts of money on something you have little passion for is quite.... worrying. -
Original vs. Remastered Albums?
In 90% of cases, most remasters are terrible. I hate how they compensate for actual audio quality by compressing the hell out of the original waveforms. I always check the mastering engineer/houses who work on the albums and there are very few I trust to do a good job. John Dent is probably my... -
Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)
Sorry for being a little lazy and not searching through all the pages, but can someone answer this as simply as possible: is is worth upgrading my current STX to the Essence One? I'm in the market for a non-PCI-E computer DAC, for use in a production studio environment (all software, no need for...- puzl

Can an Essence STX drive these?
My STX has driven absolutely every headphone I've ever thrown at it. Also, my HD 800's sound just fine on them. I often switch off my WA2 and just use them on my STX in fact.- puzl

Sonodyne SM100AK - Anyone use them?
Hello. I'm upgrading my production studio soon and in the market for some new speaker monitors, specifically for music production/editing and a little mastering for my own projects. I have a budget of £1000 (for both speakers) and I have read very good reviews for the Sonodyne SM100AK's...- puzl

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
Quote: Buy a ground loop isolator. It's the best way to eliminate computer based noise. USB does help a little over an internal soundcard/dac, but the isolator fixed the problem completely for me.- puzl
