Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around

I read through the entire OP, and it was very constructive. I would however, appreciate a personalized recommendation. I've been mainly looking at the Momentums, as well as the KEF's. They are within my price range, and are portable as well. I listen to mainly reggae, pop, a lot of acoustic...

Advice on Over the ear headphone

I don't think noise canceling are the worst sounding headphones, but since they emit a white noise, it can, to the most particular, interfere with the music. I personally think the NAD's are the best for the price. But of course, its up to you.

Advice on Over the ear headphone

I think this review would be helpful. It compares the top closed headphones on the market. It includes the PSB's the Viso HP50's and more.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I think the UE6000 is the best portable in that price range. Unless you want an on ear. Although you did have the UE6000's and sent them back, why was that? They are over ear (which is preferred by most), they are portable, they have active noise cancelling...

    Best Earphones 25 $

For that amount of money, I found the JVC HAFX1X to be very good. A bit bassy, but that goes hand in hand with the genres you enjoy listening to. Also check out ljokerl's review of multiple IEM's.

Focal Spirit Classic/Pro vs Sennheiser Momentum unamped from phone

I'd recommend the professional's for a more neutral sound. The Momentums are considered to be warm.

Want headphones for metalcore, $100 budget

The graph is showcasing the Grado's and the HD239's, not the L1's. Sorry for the confusion.

Want headphones for metalcore, $100 budget

I don't think so... see graph. Another option is one I included in the graph, the Sennheiser HD239. Another amazing headphone is the Philips Fidelio L1. It is slightly over your price range, but is probably the best out there for the price.

Need advice buying over-the-ear headphones. $100 budget.

I'd recommend the Logitech UE 6000's. If you are using headphones at all for traveling, the M50's aren't ideal. You mentioned M50s in your post twice, so I wasn't sure which one you were referring to each time. Please clarify. Anyways, feel free to ask questions.    -halfinfinity.

Maybe the Beyerdynamic DT770's. Or the UE6000's. Those are the two closed back's I generally recommend. And you've have both, so whichever you prefer. Although you did mention that you had the 250ohm version of the DT770's. You would have to get the 32ohm version, here, for portable use. If you...

Would a AMP benefit the UE 6000?

No, nothing will be blowing up. Tell me your thoughts when you get the amp.   -halfinfinity.

Would a AMP benefit the UE 6000?

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, when you turn on the NC it begins to emit a white noise, not some form of amp. Regardless, all headphones benefit from the use of an amp. The UE6000 in particular, was designed as a portable headphone, for the average joe. And they recognized when...

Headphone... Max budget of $180... Preferably bassy and good looking

What about the brand new V-Moda XS? They should have the bass he is looking for, as well as the looks. They are extremely durable, too. I mean extremely durable. They have a detachable cable (of course), and fold up extremely small for some serious portability. I mean, the headphones inside the...

It seems as though you have already decided, but for the genres you listen to, I think the Sennheiser HD598's would suit you best. Probably the most comfortable as well. They also don't need an amp to be powered, which is always a plus. They also have a detachable cable, something the Beyer's...

Hey guys! New here! Looking for help

You seem to have it all figured out. The HD598's and the X1's are the two headphones I generally recommend to gamers. Of course they are fantastic for music as well. For the music you listen to, the X1's are probably better. The HD598's just don't have enough bass for those genres. You obviously...

A little background. Where are you using these headphones? What music are you listening to? Do you have an amp? My opinion may vary depending on the answers to these questions.   Home use: AKG K240 Home use w/ an amp: Beyerdynamic DT990 Outdoor use: Logitech UE6000   Please, go soft on...
