Does anyone know if the UE6000's would benefir from an amp even though they have one built in? they dont really sound like they have one built in to begin with

Yamaha Pro 500's are 300-400 bucks, too much for me. They do sound ideal though. damn

These are Audio Technica ATHPRO700, not the ATHPRO700MK2's in case you didn't know, or I may be mistaken if they are really similar or whatever.

Will an amplifier make up for the recessed or lacking mids and highs in either of the two (Studio and 700mk2)? Or just improve bass?

You know, I would buy the Ultrasone HFI-580 right now, but they look ridiculous in pictures on people wearing them. How hard would it be to put the innards of these into a counterfeit pair of Beats Studios or Solo HD's?
