No it is vinyl. I have it and it works fine. It's very fitted and does not add significant bulk. The piece that covers the volume wheel provides stability to the wheel. I give it 5 stars.

I am using Moon Audio Blue Dragons with my Oppo PM-3's and Moon Audio Silver Dragons with my Westone ES60's. I prefer the balanced mode over the ACG on my DP-S1, I think it presents a larger sound stage.

I only use the balanced output so I can't comment on volume differences between balanced and unbalanced. But I don't hear a difference between balanced and AGC. I can say I like Balanced better than AGC though.

I have the Onkyo and have done all the updates via wifi without issue.

It's hard to really say, but I believe I hear much more bass and more air. Has anyone out there noticed a difference?
