Just out of curiosity, any idea how they compare to the Massdrop X AKG K7XX headphones? https://drop.com/buy/akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-headphones- roncri

Recommendation for a headphone amp
Here's the criteria. Less than $250 Equal or better to Schiit Audio Magni 2 Uber for both quality and power (50 ohms: 1.2W RMS per channel). Something bigger than Magni 2 Uber but still less than 10" wide Two primary headphones are Sennheiser HD580 and AKG K7XX Massdrop Limited Edition...- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
Only source is my computer so not really an issue. I really do like the NFB-15 but I'm worried about size. I need to measure the space when I'm back in the office on Monday.- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
Going with the dac/preamp/headphone amp route I see two contenders. The Audio-GD NFB-15 and a Schiit Modi 2/Magni 2 Uber combo. I'd keep using the TP30 but only to power the speakers. The NFB-15 has a little more power, more flexibility on the output and is a single unit. It's a lot...- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
That has serious potential. Price is low enough that I could find a separate power amp for my speakers and put it under the desk.- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
Starting to think it might be easier to find a preamp/headphone amp and then just have a separate power amp under the desk.- roncri

Yeah, those are beautiful amps but too expensive and honestly too big.- roncri

The element is interesting. Still prefer a single unit but I may be able to fit two, especially if I can stack.- roncri

Hmmm, been looking around I did find this one. I have to admit, being able to get a tube amp hybrid has some appeal.- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
Have to admit, that is a sweet amp but yeah, more than I really want to pay. I wish the Musical Paradise MP-302 was still being made. That's what I run at home and I prefer it to the TP30.- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
No offense but I didn't ask for a complete new setup, I asked if a specific type of speaker/headphone amp was available. I like the DT990s but if I needed to switch I've got a pair of Senn HD580 and AKG K7XX Massdrop edition at home. I most definitely don't want new speakers as the ones...- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
If possible I'd like to keep it under $500. Main reason I was looking for a single unit is that this sits on my desk at work and I don't have a huge amount of space to work with.- roncri

Headphone amp with more "power"
So I'm in my 50s and have some hearing issues. Not to the point where I need a hearing aid but my hearing is definitely diminished. I’ve got a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ohms headphones being driven by a Topping TP30 amp. Source is my computer. Even when I have the amp and computer...- roncri

Alternative to Musical Paradise MP-302 Class-D Mini Amplifier Built-In USB DAC
I'm fine with a class-T, would just like some specific recommendations. For example, I thought about a Topping TP41 but in doing research, it looks like the amp used for the headphone section isn't that great.- roncri

Alternative to Musical Paradise MP-302 Class-D Mini Amplifier Built-In USB DAC
I've been a big fan of Musical Paradise's MP-302 Class-D Mini Amplifier. Quality small size headphone amp that I could also use to drive speakers when I didn't want to wear headphones. I liked it so much that I wanted a second one for the office but now they are discontinued. Here's what...- roncri

Looking for something comparable to my Sennheiser HD580
If you go on their site, they offer to repair the HD580 for a flat rate of $150. From what I can tell, it doesn't matter what is wrong. In my case, the sound for one side was cutting in/out. I just got an email from them today and it looks like they replaced the cushions and the cable...- roncri

When I refer to a detachable cable, I mean the type that use a plug so it's compatible with something like the V-MODA BoomPro.- roncri

Sennheiser HD 580 Back in stock at Newegg
Yeah, I probably should have done a little more checking on threads about issues but I've already sent them in to Sennheiser to be fixed. They were stock until the end.- roncri

Sennheiser HD 580 Back in stock at Newegg
It's been over 10 years since I bought these headphones and consider them one of the best purchases I ever made. Wear them 4-6 hours a day and just started having problems with the sound cutting out on one side last month. Sennheiser has a flat rate of $150 for repair of the HD580s which means...- roncri

Looking for something comparable to my Sennheiser HD580
In 2002 I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD580s on closeout from NewEgg for $131. One of the best purchases I ever made. I wear these headphones probably about 4-6 hours a day and just sent them of to get repaired by Sennheiser for a flat $150. I'm getting a new office at work and need a set of...- roncri

Headphones comparable to Senn HD 580s with less weight?
Hasn't been a good year for my body. I've been in two roll over car accidents plus a motor crash and have a lot of neck issues going on. I wear my headphones for 3-4 hours at a time and even the 260gm Senn HD 580s start bothering me after extended periods. What I'm looking for is a pair of...- roncri

Should I go with WMA codec?
What do you use if you already have your collection in WMA but need it converted to MP3 for portability? That's the problem I'm having now and I don't want to re-rip everything.- roncri

Custom PIMETA Request
Just recevied my Pimeta with the RCA outs from MisterX and I couldn't be happier. The sound is incredible with my Senn HD580's and with a flick of the toggle switch, I can route the signal to my PC speakers. -Ron- roncri

Inexpensive amp for Sennheiser 580's
I have a very similiar setup at work. I had MisterX make me a maxed out Pimeta (integrated powersupply, crossfeed, RCA out's with toggle switch). I had been using a friend's HeadRoom Supreme and to be perfectly honest I prefer the sound of my new Pimeta. Because of my job I have to switch...- roncri
