I connect my PHA-3 with PlayStation 3 that turn on BitMapping function to stream the audio in 88.2 kHz. The Hi Fs light is on.

From the manual. It said the battery can be charged within 5 °C to 35 °C of ambient temperature.   However the temperature in my country usually 30 °C or more and PHA-3 is very hot while using. So I think it's the reason that its battery can't be charged.

PHA-3 can't charge the devices that connect to it.   Also my PHA-3 can't be charged if its temperature is too high.

@motto   Sony makes the star quad upgrade cable for their XBA-H, XBA-A and XBA-Z range headphones that using MMCX connector. There are unbalanced model and balanced model. However I'm not sure that it will be compatible with other headphones or not.

The limited case is hand made by SOMÉS who is Hokkaido based saddlery. Although the craftsmanship is great and worth that money. I'm not the fan of old style leather case.

  Sony make their program to work with their DACs only. The DAC should work with other programs like the earlier model.

Sony has the program named "Hi-Res Audio Player" for playing DSD and 24 bit 192 kHz through their USB DAC. Also the program can't run if it doesn't detect any Sony USB DACs.
