Which front end / media program should I use to display my Media (XBMC, Windows Media Center, Plex?)
I am using plex with chromecast for videos and squeezebox touch for audio. Both are plug and play and the interface is really nice. Plex for music isn't that great in my opinion when you have a very large library. The sorting features are awful.- browncow

"Fun" is exactly what these cans are. Your review is 100% dead on. At the end of the day they simply put a smile on my face :)- browncow

Another streaming service: Beats Music
I like the idea of the non-algorithmic playlists and recommendations they are touting by employing musicians. I also heard a rumor that they would be using location information to generate playlists so for example if you tag your location at a gym, every day that you go there you will get a...- browncow

Spotify Premium - is it good enough?
there have been quite a few ABX tests done to test this theory. Most people cannot tell the difference between FLAC and 320 MP3's Some will say that get "fatiguing" or some nonsense listening to compressed audio. You will be fine with high res Spotify until you can get home to your FLAC...- browncow

I don't want any if possible. Hearing the slightest echo/delay is a distraction especially when playing an FPS where RTC is critical.- browncow

M50s overrated?
I think I am settled on the V-moda's M-80's for now. They can be driven unamped and are pretty portable. They blow the doors off the M50's and outshine some higher end cans like the Momentum's.- browncow

Spotify Premium - is it good enough?
I think you have to "take what you can get" depending on where and when you are consuming music. For me when i am on the go or exploring new music Spotify is good enough. When I am doing critical listening such as at home or in the office I will use only FLAC. You just can't beat the convenience...- browncow

V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews
I didn't have to EQ these at all. They are very well balanced including the high end. Actually I found the M50's to be much darker on the treble than these. I have tested these with a number of DACs and amps and found the sound to be be pleasant across the board. You are right that EQ's can't...- browncow

MediaMonkey vs MusicBee
I love Musicbee - i find it to be more customizable with respect to layout and skins. I also love the theater mode especially Xbox mode. The built in EQ is excellent and you can also import Winamp plugins.- browncow

Spotify Premium - is it good enough?
Just be careful in that you only get HQ streaming when using the desktop or mobile client. The browser based version streams at 160 and I can definitely hear a difference when using the browser plugin vs the client.- browncow

Gaming with a USB DAC and mic
Hi Guys, I am looking for a solution where I can use my existing cans with a USB DAC/Amp (bifrost+magni) and still be able to use a mic (TBD) with a loop so I can hear myself talk. Right now the only way to enable this is to plug my headphones into the amp and use a USB webcam with mic...- browncow

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
yea that's a good obervation. I noticed the sound dramatically improves after a few minutes. At first I was skeptical being that it doesn't have you know... tubes! but I am digging this thing more and more. Also as an FYI I have the 1.2 which is the latest version. I haven't heard the old one so...- browncow

Realtek HD integrated audio
Hi Guys, Just bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and it has a realtek HD chip for audio. Is anyone familiar with the quality of the DAC in that chipset? How much of an improvement would a Fiio or Dragonfly bring to the table? I will be running Westone 4 IEM's and V-Moda 80's with this setup. Thanks!- browncow
