I have the dt770s and the ultrasone hfi-780s.  The beyers are wicked comfortable and the bass is really nice unless you crank the volume, then i notice some distortion.  The ultrasones sound great, good all-rounders.  I would probably go with them over the beyers unless you want to wear them all...

I have not compared it to the AKG phones you speak of, but for the genres you listed, I think the hd25 would be a great match.  I really enjoy the punchy bass, and great isolation.  I was able to stretch out the headband a bit, so comfort is getting better as well.  It's just a great portable set.
