2 soundcards - how to use both at the same time?

Are you looking for a kind of "quadrophonic sound" by running both headphones and speakers at the same time? I guess not If I'm correct, you probably want system sounds out of your speakers and audio through your E5c's. The easiest way of doing this would be to set your default...

WMA Lossless is truly 100% Lossless

The terminology "lossless" can only mean you get back the original data after it's been encoded then decoded. Examples of lossless compression are ZIP, RAR etc. When was the last time you compressed a file (or a number of files) and got something different when you decompressed/decoded it...

    SPDIF problem - MCE - RME 9632

I'm trying to get Coaxial output to my A/V Amp (Marantz 7300) from MCE using a newly purchased RME 9632. I've played about with the settings as per manual (12.2 DVD Playback) but no luck. Anyone have this working? If so, fancy doing a couple of screenshots of the settings? I'm using the...

OK, this is a long one.... Sorry about my last post. It was a bit of a late night rant without actually putting across my reasoning’s behind my statements. What did I mean… Firewalls and NAT (on your router): Note that I shall use the word “spyware” for both spyware and malaware to...

    New computer, and new dilemma...

Firewalls, firewalls, firewalls! Too be honest, Firewalls they are a waste of time (for home) for both viruses and spyware! Why? If someone is going to attack you, guess which port they are going to use? Yep, port 80 (your web traffic) so it will most probably be open. (If you were an...

HTPC HiFi Soundcard Advice: RME or E-MU

Searching the forums, it looks like the RME 9632 drivers do bypass the kmixer. (btw - I'm not that familiar with the kmixer, ASIO drivers or the general Windows sound architecture). Am I right in thinking that there would be no improvement in sound by using an ASIO player over say Windows...

HTPC HiFi Soundcard Advice: RME or E-MU

I'm looking at replacing my DVD and CD Player with a HTPC I'm building. This will (hopefully) be my main source for all CD, WAV, DVD’s as well as acting as a PVR. Also, the other point is that as it’s going to be a “consumer device”, then it should be a setup and forget affair. I don’t want to...
