Splitting one source signal into two Headphone Amps?
Good question. i´ve been looking for a while for the complete answer (and suitable circuits) the only thing i found so far is a distribution amplifier like in the TL074 datasheet. anyone seen this? Isn´t it too complicate for that purpose? Shouldn´t a simple unity gain buffer with a 100k...- joensd

what´s going wrong here? i still can´t see the layout. just a lil bmp-file from tripod. still would like to see cause i wonder how you got the lm6171´s working without a "pro"-PCB board. thanks for hints- joensd

Short Question bout caps
hello! thought about that same question as well is it only the difference in tolerance of the caps that´s important for the sound? or more the physical structure of them? thanks- joensd

Looking for simple class a amp schem
yeah possum you´re right with that patience is of the essence actually i am; i just wrote that there are days... i´m more or less understanding all the circuits but not so far with my experience that i design/calculate them myself i just take schems that look cool and modify here and there...- joensd

Looking for simple class a amp schem
thanks JMT looks real interesting BUT: i tend to forget i´m cruising in headphone forums what i forgot to say was that i wanted something around 20w per channel to drive loudspeakers and maybe separate stage for headphones i got inspired by the designs for headphones that use an opamp...- joensd

Looking for simple class a amp schem
Hi there! I always wanted to build a class a amplifier but don´t want it too complicate. I thought about a good opamp followed by transistors, fets working in class a and am still looking for a schematic. Anyone seen and tried such a thing (maybe some links etc.)? A regulated power supply...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
yeah, you´re right it´s kinda lot parts flying around here and what my boss doesn´t know won´t make him hot.lol i always wanted to try those specific tv-transistors(bu508 etc) for a hifi and check out if they sound ok but i´m just too lazy and woffling about electronics studies as well so...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
hi! i mean i got +-27v so this is OK? it falls anyway and the peak protection should be okay (by the way, where can i find the ultraregulator you used, maybe i go for a bigger case and add that too) the amp sounds so good that i even thinking about using this for my hifi setup; any...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hi ppl! I was away for a few days and didn´t try. But what you write really confuses me. Somebody else told me to take a bigger Rfeedback to rise gain which sounds logical to me cause isn´t it calculated like a normal operational non-inverting amplifier: Vu=Rfeedback/Rtoground+1 ??? I...- joensd

The amp isn´t clipping at all.It sounds cool. Just that I can turn up the pot and still can sit next to the speakers. My marantz amp has got 2*50W and I can´t turn it up even half way in my room.So actually it can´t be the speakers either (simple magnats rated at 120W,4-8Ohm it says on the back)...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hi PPL! The amp is finished. I wished I would have invested money in a case.Man this was a struggle.(Don´t like metal work) Well, the amp sounds cool. My only concern is that even with full volume it doesn´t blast really (and I´m not extreme).I used a 10K stereopot and there is a 22k...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hello again! Another question just came in to my mind: I started discussion bout the cmoy-amp on a PCB. Would you construct a PCB or solder the pins more or less directly anyway ? I actually would like to do it with a PCB but not sure about noises and oscillations with the PCB.(I know that...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hi ppl! Now I actually have all the parts I need but didn´t start with the circuit itself.Still woffling about the case, cause I didn´t want to buy one. Also still unsure about the cooling cause I got only two heatsinks with about 7-8K/W and I don´t know if it´s enough if I link them with the...- joensd

CMOY on PCB?
Hello again! So my thoughts were right that hansen sells finished boards. That´s disappointing cause I wanted to do my own board and gain experience with that stuff. The other thing is that I come from germany and don´t wanna wait and give away that much money for a lil project like that. So...- joensd

CMOY on PCB?
Hi there! I wanna try another headphone amplifier and have an eye on the cmoy cause it´s so simple. Because I have found a little case with jacks for in and out I wanna make a PCB design to use those jacks and solder them directly on the board. I once tried to do it with a LM386 and it was a...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hi PPL! Thanks for the fast answer (vroom). After thinking about it I should just finish the amp and see how that thing sounds. It was my intention to keep it simple and straight but sometimes you have to compense bad recordings a little.So. I thought a little control would help but probably...- joensd

Hi PPL! Thanks again for all the information. Because you actually built this I´m really interested which preamp or tone controls you realized with that amp. I´m just too lazy and don´t have the money to experiment too much around so Do you have a circuit of your preamp/tonecontrol you...- joensd

DIY-project with LM3886
Hi PPL! Thanks a lot for the schem and PCB. I already had a schematic and a PCB from a real good german magazine for electronic stuff. My only concern was if one transformer is enough. From your description and from my thoughts as well and I think one solid transformer should do. Really...- joensd
