Power Supply layout critque
I've been working on a simple regulated power supply based off of the positive portion of the Welborne Lab's PS1. Well, it also looks just like the regulated power supply schematic in the LT1086 doc's, but that's besides the point. Below is my current artwork for a single rail supply...- Subsonic

AD843 and the PPA.
I recall ppl saying in a thread that the AD843 will latch to one of the power supply rails in the PPA under certain conditions such as having the bass boost on when powering up and/or using a current limiting power supply. So I guess my question is, would it be safe to use the AD843's in a PPA...- Subsonic

Can someone tell me really quick if this is correct??
The diagram above is a pic of a pcb style transformer. What I want is for the primaries to be parallel and the secondaries in series. Are the red and green connections correct in the above diagram? I would then use the '0' pins as the AC output? TIA- Subsonic

Eagle PCB and size restrictions?
I downloaded the evaluation copy of Eagle PCB a few days ago and I think I am getting the hang of it. I've created a few pcb designs and I don't see where the size limit comes in to play. I can place vias and traces anywhere I want. Is this restriction only for placing library components and...- Subsonic

My Wallet is talking to me...
I'm in a little dilema. My wallet is urging me to buy something really really expensive ($600-800). But I'm torn between what I should splurge on. I always wanted to get a nice Digital Camera, but now that I have gotten myself in to this god awful hobby, I'm also thinking on upgrading my cdp...- Subsonic

Multiple headphone amps in one chassis.
With the limited amount of desk space I have and this endless hobby of DIY amplifiers, I had the idea of combining my next project (Antness Gilmore) and my Meta42 in to a single chassis. My initial thoughts are to split the input(s) into both amps and have the Gilmore power supply power both...- Subsonic

What are the cons in using DIP pins?
Would using DIP pins to connect the inputs and outputs degrade the sound quality of an amp? I thought it would be convenient to socketize everything but if it'll degrade sound quality I'll pass on the idea. Thanks in advance.- Subsonic

Need a new tip for my soldering iron
Anybody have a preferred tip style when it comes to soldering on pcb? I'm using a Weller WP25 and it looks like it has a large screwdriver tip which I think is not ideal for this type of delicate work.- Subsonic

Do I need to ground an Alps pot to the case?
I just recieved my Alps in the mail today and found that the pot's case is isolated from the signal pins. If I'm going to use a metal case for my Meta42 project, do I still need to ground pot's case to PG? This amp will be strictly for home use and I'm planning on using an Elpac Wall Wart to...- Subsonic

My first DIY project. Would this circuit work?
What I'm trying to do is to make an adapter that will let me use my cans with my tv (doesnt' have a headphone jack). I don't have a preamp, headphone amp, or a amp that I could hook it up to either . So instead of buying a DSP 360 or any other sort of amp, I think making something would be a...- Subsonic

How do I get my headphone to work on my TV?
I've checked the back and the front panels of my television and there is no jack for headphones. Is there a type of adapter that will let me use the variable audio out jacks or do I have to make my own? Also, just an idea could I somehow splice some speaker wire in to the right and left speaker...- Subsonic
