I have the SPL auditor with my LCD-3F and I really enjoy it (the auditor deliver 1,3watts rms per chanel at 110ohms).   Do anybody have tried it and can compare with other amp? Should I upgrade my amp?

Going from RCA to XLR is bad idea, RCA works at a voltage much lower then the XLR, hence why your gain is so low.   My DAC for an exemple output a max of: RCA: 2,6 Volts XLR: 5,2 Volts   So basically your gain is 50% of what it should be.

I have never read that much driver failure about the T1 or some other very popular headphone. The LCD-3 it seems very common. 

The XC is the Audeze closed back. They isolate pretty well but they are on the heavy side.    The 900 is closed back, but it's true that they isolate as much as an semi-open headphone. But they offer a really good sound.
