I haven't heard the HP100, but from what I've read the upper bass is their weak point whereas it's a strength of the A900X.

The HD201 should have very poor bass and a poor seal. When my friend upgraded his HD201 to a similar headphone, those two things and a huge improvement on soundstage were the biggest changes he noticed at first.

This is a sure sign of mismatched drivers, which seems to be a common issue with these. You may think the problem is solved with the driver setting, but it is likely that there are certain frequencies which are reproduced at different volumes by the drivers. Play the full range sweep test here...

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the stock pads and a rubber band around the wings for a better fit so the seal is pretty good. Squeezing the cups against my ears for a perfect seal improves the isolation a bit but it's not really a significant change in SQ so I don't think that's the problem.
