MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max - 3.5mm output
MKBHD tested a pair of Beyer DT770s in 250ohm flavor and commented on volume output: on the previous MacBook Pro he had to max the volume output for a comfortable listening level and on the new one it’s set at 65%. No comment on SQ- Daniel L

AirPods Max
This is very well written. By the way, I've been doing an experiment with friends/family this year giving them two snifters. Disclaimer: I'm not a scotch enthusiast. One is filled with Johnnie Walker Black and one with Blue Label and asking them which one they think is the better one. Exactly...- Daniel L

Sony MDR-1000X
I will be returning the 1000x after I return from this trip. The white noise from the ANC is too much. It's still audible even when there's music playing and seems to degrade the quality of the audio when it's on.- Daniel L

Wireless Portable Speakers
I need some suggestions for battery powered speakers that can accept a bluetooth or airplay stream. I've seen some smaller docks with bluetooth streaming but the sound wasn't great. Anyone with a great recommendation?- Daniel L

iphone 4 sound quality
Just a quick note as I've just started listening through it. Through sensitive IEMs it has a much much lower idle noise level in comparison to my 1g iPod nano, Macbook Air, and Thinkpad T61P. I had a 3GS last month but I don't remember what the idle noise level was like in comparison.- Daniel L

Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
If you look at the pictures though the UM remolds come out cosmetically better. There's a certain amount of transparency and shine to the UM remolds vs a hazed cloudy look on the Fisher ones although I'm not sure it's worth a two month wait. If I had to do it all over again I probably...- Daniel L

Does it go like this: send headphones -> you pay -> they reshell -> they ship -> enjoy or send headphones -> they reshell -> you pay -> they ship - enjoy Also, how long does shipping take from them to you? I just paid for mine so I'm getting pretty excited.- Daniel L

most comfortable headphones
Another vote for the Beyers. DT770s and 880s feel relatively similar. I went on the pursuit for a set of comfortable headphones after loving the Grado sound and hating the way they feel. AT900s were comfortable but they gave me headaches, while the Beyers are just right.- Daniel L

What do you plug your computer into?
Laptop plugged into a Kill-A-Watt power usage monitor attached to a power strip. It's fun seeing how many watts the system uses while charging, idle, under load, different power usage profiles, etc.- Daniel L
