Is anyone here a teenager that once believed that Beats and Bose were the best headphones on earth?
Head-fi actually got to me before the other hype machine. Not that that was too much better, 2 pairs of broken RE0s later. I am gradually becoming an informed consumer, though.- Tefloon

Make the effort to return these and get something fast/resolving instead. Grado is awful.- Tefloon

You're entitled to exactly what you paid for and nothing more. When I say there's no point to writing a review of the sound signature, I don't mean you can't talk about the sound -- what I mean is that "These headphones have [insert anayltical characteristics here], therefore they suck and I am...- Tefloon

I also don't really see how this is very similar to Beats/Bose -- Etymotic doesn't sell headphones on the strength of their PR machine.- Tefloon

Well, if you want to scream at Head-fi about how bad your headphones are and how everyone is trying to trick you into buying terrible headphones, I suppose it can't do anything worse than annoy a few people... Never said you weren't allowed to criticize them -- I just see more to be gained by...- Tefloon

As I said on the other one, there is zero point to writing and Angry and Entitled review because you don't like the sound sig. It only serves to annoy.- Tefloon

The main thing I have a problem with is how shrill and disgruntled you're coming across. If you don't like it, by all means, sell it and pan it. I've never personally heard the MC5 -- it could very well be all the things that you say, but you still could have communicated them in a far better...- Tefloon

Am I so bad in identifying sound quality?
When I first got my hf5s they sounded dark and lifeless and hurt my ear canal. Today, they're my favorite IEMs I've ever heard and I love listening to them.- Tefloon

Etymotic's hf5 is the best I've heard -- fairly fast, easy to pinpoint things in the soundstage, nice punchy mids. The only faults I can find are that it is somewhat rolled off at the ends and sounds a tiny bit "thin" usually.- Tefloon
