    Yamaha EPH-100

Just to add some insult to the injury:   I got a pair of these fantastic sounding IEMs years ago. I used them exclusively for the gym, so they took tons of sweating; they never missed a beat (I always cleaned them with a towel and stored them on a zip pouch with silica gel after each use).  ...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I'm lost...   ljokerl, could you please point me to something in the $200-$600 range, either universal, or even preferred, CIEM that would suit my tastes?   After reading a lot of other reviews I'm still lost.   I want bass, I especially want great dynamics, cannot stand the most...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Quote:   Problem with "trying" those (K3003, Ultrasone IQ, Super.Fi 5EB, Heir 8.A, etc its all reach the $1000 mark, while CIEMs are around $600-700!   what about $300-$600 range? UE-900 maybe?

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

ljokerl, and any other with wide experience with IEMs, I would like to ask for some orientation:   After "discovering" the Vsonic GR06 thanks to this thread, I started to have the "itch" to upgrade, so the quest began...   I don't use amps, the IEMs should sound fine with a naked iphone...

    VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread

I seriously hope they don't use flat cables, that will be a no-no in terms of microphonics!

    Vsonic GR06 broke fast?

Quote:   Heavy driver flex... these drivers need more than 60 hours after soldering to go back to "normal" performance.   Just had to resolder the cable as an accidental trip to the washing mashine loosened the glue; after those burn-in hours the sound went back to "normal", and the...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

ljokerl, kudos for this impressive thread!!! THANKS THANKS THANKS!   I was  in the quest for the ideal (for me) IEM, so first read all your reviews from $30 to $100, and confirmed your listening taste was in line with mine (comparing your impressions from IEMs I owned, like a-jays three...

    Vsonic GR06 broke fast?

I wanted to re-cable them with an original Apple cable w/ controls for ipod/iphone.   Best way to open them is to heat them slightly, then look where the cable enters the earpieces, on the outer side you'll see there's intentional space to insert a xacto knife (flatly) and do some force to...

    GR07 - Tips Thread

Hi!   I got the GR06 recently in my quest for my ideal IEMs for use only with iphone/ipod and carry them always "on the go".    I'm having a hard time finding the ideal ear tips for them, I guess due to the square shape of the earpieces, the nozzles cannot go inside enough.   Lemme...

    Pete Millett's Menace

This post brought a big smile on my face... Back in 2002 I took Pete's design and started doing rounds and rounds of PSU design testing and tube/components permutations and started harrasing everyone around, including Pete (who kindly explained the design and suggested things to try) The...

    new OTL tube headphone amp

I won't get too excited about tube "clones". Tube amps have a clear advantage over IC in that they use very few parts in comparison, but precisely by this, a single part being lower quality than it should be will ruin the amp completely. I suspect that many people who tried tube amps, and...
