Audio problem with Grado SR80 and iMac

I'm a podcaster, and I 've been using Grado SR80 headphones when recording for about a year. There has long been a problem plugging these headphones into my iMac. The plug on the headphones doesn't sit right in the headphone jack on the iMac. The Grados have a TRS plug, and should work with the...

Sennheiser MX 475, MX 585 opinions?

My bad; I forgot about the inline volume controller. Unlike most headphones with this type of controller, where it changes the volume on the iPhone, this one is an attenuator.

Sennheiser MX 475, MX 585 opinions?

I just bought the MX 585, because don't like in-canal earbuds. I wanted them to listen on my iPhone, but the volume is incredibly low even when the iPhone is maxed out. Is this inherent in these newer earbuds? I never had this problem with Apple earbuds back in the day.

Help with amp for AKG 702

Amazon UK had a deal this week on the AKG 702; they cost £115, so I bought a pair. I want to be able to listen to these in two ways. First, connected to an amplifier (Denon 720 AE) in my offer, and, second, through my iPhone. Chatting with some people online, I was told that the amp doesn't have...

Listening to mono on a single speaker

So back to my original question: will it make any difference? I notice the volume of the single speaker is lower than two speakers; if I bi-wire, will it be louder? (Posted from my iPhone; please excuse any typos or brevity.)

Listening to mono on a single speaker

I'm planning to use this only to listen to mono recordings. (Posted from my iPhone; please excuse any typos or brevity.)

Listening to mono on a single speaker

Why smoke, if the speaker has two sets of terminals? (Posted from my iPhone; please excuse any typos or brevity.)

Listening to mono on a single speaker

I'm quite enamored of old mono recordings, and I decided to set up my office audio system with a single speaker, together with stereo. I have a Cambridge Audio 651A amp, and it has two speaker outputs. So, for now, I've set up a single speaker in the center of my two stereo speakers - one on...

    HD580 > HD650?

OK, never mind; they're €48 each, for headphones that cost somewhere over €200. For that price - €96 - I'd rather not just take a chance that it might make a difference.

    HD580 > HD650?

The pads? I would never have thought of that. They are very soft indeed. I guess their being soft means they absorb more of the high-end sounds?   I've had them about 8 years, I think. I'm 52, and have some hearing loss at the high end, but I can clearly hear the difference switching between...

    HD580 > HD650?

I've been reading reviews, and the AD2000 is out of my price range; but what about the AD900?   I'd be worried about the Grados not fitting well. I have large ears, and I really like the amount of space on the HD580; the AD900 looks to be similar, but the Grados look quite small.

    HD580 > HD650?

Ok, so it's not that the HD580s have "faded" over time. That's kind of what I wanted to know. Thanks.

    HD580 > HD650?

I've long had HD580s as my main headphones, and I like them a lot, but I have a feeling that, over time, they've lost their sparkle. The high end sounds pretty laid back, and I'm not enjoying listening with them as much as I used to.   I'm wondering if it's worth going to HD650s. Is the...

Loud hiss with Senneheiser RS 180

No, my source is clean; with other headphones, there's no noise.   Altering the volume did alter the level of the hiss, but at normal volume, the hiss was notable.

    Help me choose new headphones

Hi, I'm new here. I posted earlier about Sennheiser RS 180s emitting a loud hiss; I bought them because I found the idea of wireless listening interesting. I live in the country, and it would be nice to be able to sit outside listening to music wirelessly and controlling playback on iTunes with...

Loud hiss with Senneheiser RS 180

I just bought a Sennheiser RS 180 wireless headphone. I was looking forward to listening to music wirelessly from my Mac, which is connected to a DAC > Amp, and controlling it with my iPod touch in different parts of my home.    Alas, there is a very loud hiss on the headphones; which...
