I'm a podcaster, and I 've been using Grado SR80 headphones when recording for about a year. There has long been a problem plugging these headphones into my iMac. The plug on the headphones doesn't sit right in the headphone jack on the iMac. The Grados have a TRS plug, and should work with the iMac, even though it is TTRS. But I have to fiddle with the plug to get clean audio. If I try using a TRS > TTRS adapter, I have the same problem, the Grado plug not fitting correctly into the adapter. I've fallen back an a 3.5mm > USB-C adapter, but I've been having problems with that lately. Again, the Grado plug seems to not be the appropriate length to fit in these adapters and not get interference from the different segments. It feels like the jack is a bit loose in any plug.
I have Sony MDR-V6 headphones, and their jack fits perfectly.
Any thoughts? I do like these headphones, they've very comfortable, but this is becoming a headache.
