Upgrade recommendations (from e9 and 7)

I've had the fiio setup for about 3 years and I've been using them with the HD650s. I'm looking for something that will increase the soundstage on the 650s and will pair well with the t90s, which I hope to get sometime in the future.    I've got a budget from $400 - 600. I listen to pretty...

New Denon DA-300USB DSD DAC with headphone amplifier

Any alternative recommendations, in terms of a 2-in-1 setup? Ideally around the same price range. I had this for a couple weeks, and as a previous reviewer noted, the amp on this was not able to adequately power my HD650s. Even my fiio e9 did a better job at higher volumes. Really disappointing...

Dream/Must Have Features You Want in a Portable Headphone

Hi all. I though it would be interesting to post things you'd like to see in a headphone and perhaps post a product like it or close to it that's currently sold.    My must have features are (in random order):    1. collapses flat  2. comes with a hardshell case 3. detachable cable...

    What fits?

Thanks for all the suggestion. I'm strongly leaning towards one of the HD5xx, probably the HD558s. Just wondering if anyone would recommend the 32 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT 880s? Or would that be overkill for a casual listening experience? I'm slightly worried that the HD558s, might not be as durable...

Good DAC and AMP combo for AKG K240 and Sennheiser HD 558 with possibility of headphone upgrade?

The fiio e9/e7 combo sounds pretty great with my HD650s, but note that the combo will only power the 650's to about 80% of their full potential. Never the less the fiio combo is a perfect budget choice that only limits you if you think you'll want to upgrade again soon, as they for sure don't...

    What fits?

Yea, I've considered the HD598 and the other HD5xx, but don't their cables require a 2.5mm jack on one end?

    What fits?

Quote: around $200 probably just to watch the news and movies in bed on my laptop doesn't really matter if they're opened or closed because I plan on just using them indoors mostly, jazz, classical, acoustic that's mostly FLAC and 320 i've got a fiio e9/e7 combo but it's plugged into...

Ah my bad, should have specified that, but it doesn't matter to me.

    What fits?

Hello, I'm looking for headphones that are easily driven off a laptop, with velour pads, that are replaceable down the line and with a detachable cord. My price range is around $200, preferably below, as these headphones will mainly be for casual use.    Any and all suggestion would be...

    Need Help with a Headphone Buying Decision (QC15, M50, HD598, HD558, Momentums, COP, MDR1R)

I recommend passing on the m50s. I had them for two years, and while I loved how they sounded (my only complaint in this area is that the soundstage on the m50s is underwhelming and quite narrow), how easy they were to drive and the fact that they were built like a tank and could take a beating...

Picking the right headphones around $150

I would go with the m80 simply for the detachable cable because it ensures more longevity than a cable's that's attached. Although, I haven't babied by m50s and their still as good as new, but I would prefer the option of a detached cable. Sound wise, I really don't think there's much...

The Deals Thread (CLOSED! See the last post for the link to the new thread)

Quote:   I'd go to razordogdeals for the HD650's, the owner of the site allows you to give your best offer. I've heard sales around the $270 - 300 range.

Where to buy the swan m10 in Canada or comparable 2.1 speaker recommendations?

As the title says. Or how much did ordering from the US cost overall with shipping and duties? And finally, any recommendations for similar products under $200?

Totally have love for the 202s. They're comfortable enough and I can throw them around.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote:   I tried listening to them just of my iPhone and it was interesting. Songs sounded quiet and not very detailed. I think unmapped, a $50 headphone would sound better than the HD650s.

FACEOFF: D2000 vs HD650; a comparison and review of two head-fi juggernauts

I'm pretty happy with the sound from my HD650's but I do agree that their build quality is fairly cheap, I actually think that my m50's have a slightly better build quality. I'm actually a little scared that the headband will snap. I would rather have a heavier, but sturdier headphone that I...

Audio Technica ATH M50 (Portable Use)

They get a little sweaty around the ears after a couple hours of use. I can't really use mine for more than 2 hours. But I still consider them portable because of their durability.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote: I run my HD650's of the e9 and I've had no problems thus far, the sound quality isn't amazing but it definitely isn't bad for your money's worth.

Broken HD650 headband, Sennheiser repair worth it?

I thought the HD650's would be made of more metal and less plastic. The headband on my m50's seem sturdier than my 650's.    How long have you had yours?    Quote:

Broken HD650 headband, Sennheiser repair worth it?

Man. I'm getting worried about my HD650. I thought they would last me a decade without breaking.    Also the headband is made of plastic. I think the cable is blended with kevlar.

The Quest For The Comfiest Cans

I've always thought that bose headphones felt like pillows on my ears. Their frames are usually super light, which helps.    I've never had a problem with comfort with headphones above the $300 range but I do prefer headphones that have velour cups. I do favour the k701's because of their...

    Headphones with sound like beats.

Just heard the denon d2000's, the bass was tight and deep. I would definitely choose them as a bass alternative to the beats. Although, I do love the build quality of the beats pro, but I'd never shell out $500 for them, $200 and we're talking.
