    Future Setup Questions HD800, HE-500

Hey Head-fi'ers   So I've reached a point where I am pretty satisfied with my mid-fi setup (Audio GD NFB-5 & AKG701) so I won't be upgrading anytime soon. However I know I will be upgrading in the future and was wondering what you guys had to say about the setup.   What I have planned...

    e7/e9 upgrade, any suggestions?

I started this journey with a m50 and an e7 but after getting a taste for the head-fi world, I purchased the AKG 701 and an e9 soon after. AKG k701 bass

I just got the k701's this monday and have burned them in for approximately 60 hours (using music/white/pink noise with periods of rest). I'm running these from my laptop->fiio e7-> vintage kenwood ka6004 (1970's i think)-> k701's. The first thing i notice is the harsh treble out of the box...

    FIIO E7 problems/help

I just received the e7's (first amp with the ath m50's!) today and it worked great at first.   The first thing I noticed was that the bass booster distorted the bass, although I saw in another thread that it might be because of my sub-par laptop sound card. I'm going to try other sources...
