    Sennheiser HD650 for Digital Piano

This thread is to advise anybody looking for high end digital piano headphones.   Iin my experience on a Clavinova CLP 120 the HD650s are absolutely perfect. The tone is very warm, round, fat, and lush; notes sound full and satisfying, and to some extent the piano sounds as if it is infront...

Ultrasone Pro 900 or Sennheiser HD 650

I have both headphones, and they are totally different.   The Pro 900s are quite airy and light, whilst also having very powerful bass. To describe the sound signature: the bass is subwoofer like but also very detailed, and the trebles extend to the very highest frequencies and are very...

    Eliminating computer intereference sound

Hi,   Does anybody have any thoughts on adding a Musiland Monitor 02 US to my PC, before a HR microDAC and matrix M-stage to Sennheiser HD650? I currently get a lot of electronic interference at high volumes (my DAC is connected via USB to my PC), does anybody know if this will be fixed?  ...

    Ultrasone 900 - diary of a beginner

What sort of music do you listen to with the 900s member1982? And did you Kees mod, and if so did you notice any difference?   Quote:

Likewise, I will be interested to hear how your impressions compare to mine. Unfortunately your music preferences are almost entirely different to mine, so direct comparisons less useful. I am into some rock/metal though so I'll give that a try.   Quote:

    Ultrasone 900 - diary of a beginner

I think and hope you are probably right. I have to have the volume at maximum for a satisfactory volume, which means if I want to listen loud I just can't; whereas the cheapo headset that sounds better can go very loud. The headphones hopefuly just need more juice, and I have a Matrix M-Stage...

Hi. I don't understand this sentence, please rephrase! I have tried on the digi-piano, check the second paragraph under the entry for yesterday's date. Yeah I would like to remedy the problems and I welcome any help! But I haven't given up or anything, I know headphones of this caliber require...

mVa or watt consumption of an external DAC?

Thanks Region2. Though the information wasn't in the manual I have found that the max output of the Astrodyne PSU is 44watts, so I will go for 100watt.   Thanks

mVa or watt consumption of an external DAC?

Hi there   Does anybody know how many mVa or watts a typical external DAC uses, particularly the 2006 HR microDAC? I need to know because I need to choose a stepdown transformer (220 -110v) capable of providing enough power. I also don't want to buy something too powerful as these things are...

    Is the "mini" connector mono?

I am about to buy an m2tech Hiface which has an SPDIF coax output, and was hoping someone could tell me which cable I need to connect to my HR microDAC's "mini" input. I am confused with this mini business, I have read that mini was a mono connector and I don't want mono sound!   I have...

    Headroom MicroDAC 2006 owner need m2Tech Hi-Face?

Incase anyone is interested, the 2006 MicroDAC accepts 24/192, but only 24/96 through USB.   As for my original question, I guess it boils down to another M2tech Hiface or Xonar/Auzentech thread, as the S/PDIF inputs on the DAC seem to outperform the USB.

    Headroom MicroDAC 2006 owner need m2Tech Hi-Face?

As the title says: does a Headroom MicroDAC 2006 owner need a computer transport output such as the m2Tech Hi-Face?   I know the HR Micro has USB capability of 24/192, therefore limited compared to the 24/192 m2Tech, so I am seeking advice as to whether I would get a worthwhile SQ upgrade...

    Portable Amp Adventure!(A review)

My CD player has an optical line out in which you can also plug a 3.5mm plug- does anybody know if the sound quality is the same whether you use an optical or 3.5mm lead to connect to a portable amp?   Thanks for this thread, really useful.
