    Interesting... Macbook Pro 32bit 96khz.

I just got my new MBP, and I was looking in Audio MIDI setup to see if this macbook still did 96khz like my old one... not only that, they added an 88.2khz option as well as a 32 bit option! It's interesting that they don't advertise this nor set it as the default.

Electrical waves versus acoustical waves-an experiment. (pic heavy)

So, when I asked about how sound worked in the 16 vs 24 bit thread I learned a lot of the stuff I thought I knew about sound was wrong. One of the things brought up was the actual sound waves versus what voltages you feed the speaker. For the last few hours, I have been working on some wave...

Would a direct interface to your brain sound better than normal headphones?

I was just thinking... if you remove the speaker out of the equation, the only thing limiting the quality of what you hear is the DAC. If one were to get some kind of cochlear implant/direct-to-brain audio connection with external access (neodymium magnets on the outside of the skull have been...

    Layman's quick review/complaints about Triple.Fi 10s

So, I've had my TF10s for around a day now, and I just have some really quick thoughts I'd like to share with anyone considering purchasing these. I guess I'll let this take the form of a pros/cons list.   Pros: The IEMs themselves feel very sturdy! I got some milk on one, it still works...

Is there such a thing as headphones/IEM that I can actually expect to last more than a few years?

So, after dropping $90 on my HJE900s to get the most durable IEMs available (at least in this price range) only to have a disappointing experience with one of the drivers acting up a bit and a lack of proper warranty, I'm left wondering if IEMs that you could, say, pass on to your children...

One of the buds on my HJE900s can sound "clogged"?

This seems very strange to me... One of the buds on my HJE900s will sometimes develop a "clog".  (I know it is this earbud because when I switched it from the left to right plug the problem persisted in this earbud). When I stick it in my ear, the sound sounds quieter than the other earbud...

    Most bullet-proof earbuds for <$50?

I'm pretty rough on my earbuds, I guess, because it seems that I break them every few months. Right now my crappy $20 skullcandies only work in one ear, and that's after I chopped off the other earbud and soldered the wires together. (BTW, these headphones were my last choice, I only got them...
