Congrats on your card =) I tried out dolby headphones I felt it ruined the natural "flavor" of the headphones and changed it completely. Although I understand why some people might like it, I really can't stand it. Try listening to music with dolby for a while and then the hi-fi or no EQ mode...

I'd say you like them but you want some sort of validation - just get it and be happy. It seems like a good fit for your needs.

Audio Technica seems to do that with their products, doesn't come with much and the package is pretty subpar as well. However the quality of their products are really solid IMO. Is the frame of the 900x magnesium or plastic?

4GB and 16GB = Overkill for my uses (even though it's loaded with FLAC) I think 2GB/4GB would be the sweet spot for me, I don't like carrying a lot of music I like to switch it up with stuff from my PC

What happens if I borrow it and a driver blows out or something happens to it and it's not due to neglect/abuse? I would consider the program I was forced to buy blind but haven't made any terrible picks lol

I doubt notebooks will have good quality sound it's just something manufacturers don't care about. If anything, you can use: notebook + external DAC/AMP --> headphones?

Expensive IEMs are expensive due to demand. All those factors previously stated wages, R&D, logistics, what not is just a byproduct of demand for good quality IEMs. If all the current consumers (enthusiasts/musicians/etc) suddenly stopped purchasing $500+ IEMs there would be no market for them...

The XB700s were the bassiest headphones I've ever heard in my life. It rumbled my skull lol. Not my thing but by look of your user name it might just be your taste 

Just wondering, I haven't followed Senn. much but didn't they re-vamp their line quite a while back and their models all got updated? This is the same case for the HD600/HD650?

I love the look of the HD700 it contrasts with the W-series very nicely. Germans have their way of doing things and the Japanese have their way of doing things lol.

People are inclined to disregard computer audio because of the interference/electromagnetic signals within the computer itself, but mine is dead quiet and plays bit-perfect what more can I ask especially for an HTPC.

I wanted to follow up and see and looks like you've already made your choice. Just another side thing, there are two versions of the card, ST and STX it's pretty much the same thing but then I figured that PCI cards are gonna be gone soon so just make sure you know what slot you have available...

Sounds faster ... very interesting I wish I could take a listen  The original 535 wasn't really impressive (IMHO) I liked the 530 better but I really like fast sounding IEMs...
