Review by 'Xstream' on item 'COWON J3 16 GB Portable Media Player (Black)'
I've owned 2 of these. I really loved them (hence the 2), but both of them got unrestorable software issues which made the screen graphics go beserk and no way to reset it back to factory defaults. So, that was it. Not worth it to go for a third attempt.- Xstream

Review by 'Xstream' on item 'FiiO X7'
In terms of sound (AM2 module) i like it every bit. It's that Fiio sound that i like so much, even better than before on the X3. The whole reason this product turns out to be a disaster is the software. Not only the very un-user friendly way of having to dig through Fiio's forums to find beta...- Xstream

Cayin i5 vs Fiio X7 AM2 review & comparison
It's because Phonak stopped producing Audeo headphones i guess. Already had to find out there's no support anymore after my cable broke. Could luckily still find some cables somewhere. But it's getting harder and harder.- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
No, Fiio was just an example. Could also have said Cayin i5 or whatever. I thought the performance of the Dragonfly was disappointing. Everybody has their opinion, that doesn't directly mean i have some affiliation, just because you disagree. Let other praise this product and be happy...- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
I don't like either one. I don't get why people buy these things. It's nothing more than an EQ that, in my opinion, doesn't sound very nice. I did like the black one more though. They both sounded muddy, but the black a bit less and has a more hifi sound. Better buy a different amp/dac. Maybe...- Xstream

Cayin i5 vs Fiio X7 AM2 review & comparison
I'm not natively English, so excuse my English. Just wanted to share my experience and direct comparison between the two. So, why this post? Owning a Fiio X3 (1st gen) and having owned loads of DAPs before, from 1st gen iPod to a iPod Nano, various Sandisk's (with rockbox mostly), various...- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
Theoretical a dragonfly is an amp, but in practice more of an equalizer. Sorry, but the dragonfly is nothing more then a slightly powered EQ. In my experience. Comparing it with the internals of the fiio is just not right.- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
Because you ask :) I had the dragonfly. Very disappointed. And I also had some fiio products. Not this particular one, but you can't compare a simple USB dac with this Fiio with amplifier.- Xstream

I wouldn't spend a dime on a dragonfly. Waste of money if you ask me. Fiio E10k for sure.- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
I've returned both the Black and Red. I preferred the sound straight out of my Macbook Pro more. Also with my Galaxy S7 it didn't add enough and i prefer the sound of my Fiio X3, which then renders the DF again useless. In my experience it just adds power and some sort of a filter on the...- Xstream

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
I've got the Dragonfly Black and Red as a trial. So far i've just played around with the Black & Red on my Macbook Pro. I will later try it out connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7 as well. First impression isn't that positive. Actually it sounds worse then directly to my Macbook Pro. Maybe it...- Xstream

What could be my Audeo PFE-232 replacement?
Hi All, I've been very happy the past few years owning a PFE-232 IEM with custom molds. But, sadly, the right side broke down, Audeo appeared to be bankrupt in The Netherlands and after having found contact with a Audeo representative in the US they told me they could replace it for me...- Xstream

Sennheiser Momentum M2 vs Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) P7
Thanks for the info. The Wireless is 130 euro more expensive. Have to consider if it's worth to me. I'm not going to use it often i think. I'll think about it.- Xstream

Sennheiser Momentum M2 vs Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) P7
I had these 2 on my shortlist too. The P7 or M2, but the wired one or wireless. I listened to the wired M2's in a shop. I quite liked the sound. Somehow, after some comparing and reading i decided to go with the P7. It's maybe not completely run-in yet (how long does that take?) and it's good...- Xstream

Review by 'Xstream' on item 'LG 3.5mm QuadBeat 2 In-Ear Monitors'
The sound in general is quite sparkling, open and well balanced for a single driver IEM. The first thing i notice is that the bass is a little flat and lacks a bit of depth compared to high-end multi-driver IEM's. It doesn't have that good punch, warmth or layered experience most high-end IEM's...- Xstream

LG Quadbeat 2 Impressions Thread
Just had my first experience with these headphones. Got them with my LG G2. Connected it to my Fiio X3 and had my first session, so will update once i have more to tell. Not sure these things need a run in time to get better? Anyway, my experience: The sound in general is quite...- Xstream

Reply to review by 'xstream' on item 'COWON J3 32 GB Portable Media Player (Black)'
Ah, the experience is a bit older ... Must have been over a year ago. In the meanwhile i've had more players and while i was checking this list and was kind of surprised to see this one on no. 1. I think it doesn't deserve it, so i shared my experience. I think even the Sansa is just as good...- Xstream

Well, that might all be true, but my computer is absolutely virus free. Corrupt media files? Maybe. Can happen anytime, especially with MP3. It's no excuse it crashes so bad it's unrecoverable. Not even a hard reset solves it ... Can't turn it off till the battery is empty. I haven't had any...- Xstream

Review by 'Xstream' on item 'COWON J3 32 GB Portable Media Player (Black)'
Well, i won't make a long review. Having the iPod Nano V6, SansaClip+, SansaClip Fuse, iAudio 6 and a mix of older Sony's, iPod's etc ... I think the best sounding player to me was the iAudio 6. Followed by the iAudio J3. The difference is marginally, but somehow the 6 just performed a tiny bit...- Xstream

[Review] Phonak PFE-232 vs Shure SE535
I tried it the other day. The tip of the Phonak is a little wider, but i could put the eartip on it with normal effort. Sounds nice too ... actually a lot better then the comply foams ... The only thing is that the shure tips aren't as comfortable on the longer run.- Xstream
