It's what we do. Typically, I've been told the ATH-M50's are over hyped. Don't take my word for it, I've never laid my hands on them.

Pendulum*   And I'd shoot for the Shure SRH750DJ. If you hunt, you can grab em for 150 or lower. Nice impact and are fully capable of rumbling your skull if you push on em. I loved em, but the right ear cup snapped off due to an accident. :/
