Shure SE535 with Effect cable problem
I have a set of Shure SE535's with the Effect Audio Pearl upgrade cable. The IEM's are about 18 months old and the cable is about a year old. It seems like when moving around or rotating the cable, the sound will click in and out...almost like it's a loose connection. Doing some research...- wiz561

What do you use to measure sound levels?
Quote: Thanks for the idea, but I'm not exactly sure that this would give an accurate view of the IEM itself. I suppose that by doing something like what you're suggesting, it would equalize the equipment. To make sure I understand you, you're saying to do that, then look at the...- wiz561

Equalizing IEM's
Thanks for the reply. This is what I was afraid of. I have been searching around and it looks like there's been some work that's been done in this area. Here's the post from here... http://www.head-fi.org/t/452404/just-listened-to-some-fostex-t50rps-today-wow/8085#post_8363115 ...- wiz561

What do you use to measure sound levels?
This is an awesome thread, as I'm looking at doing something like this. Although, I am looking for something to measure IEM's. Has anybody constructed a way to do this? Thanks!- wiz561

Equalizing IEM's
Hi! Is there a better way to create an equalizer curve for an IEM and headphones? I'm sure there is, but the only thing that I can find is a "dblogic SPL meter", but it seems like it is impossible to locate a dealer. Can you rig something up to measure frequency response with a...- wiz561

Help with fixing SE530's
Thanks for the great information. I think I will end up exchanging them for the 535's. I'll be happy that these have the detachable cables and they will be brand new and not missing any soldering pads. If Shure wouldn't give me anything for them, then I would think about getting them...- wiz561

Help with fixing SE530's
What's about the price to get them reshelled? Do I need to take a mold? I'm also asking because Shure offered to replace them with the SE535, but would have to pay $250 for them. I'm thinking about going that route, but my wife almost strangled me with them after she found out what I...- wiz561

Help with fixing SE530's
OK, so I did something stupid. I have a pair of SE530's that has the infamous cable rip/cracking syndrome. I bought a new cable for them (the shure with the coax-tip..just cut the coax tip off). According to some directions, it says you should be able to pop the lid off with a razor...- wiz561

SE530 Re-Cable with MMCX
Thanks for the response. I just ordered the replacement cable. I think what I might do is cut the ends off the replacement, pop open the shells, and just solder it in. We'll see what happens....- wiz561

SE530 Re-Cable with MMCX
Hi! I have a pair of SE530 which I haven't used in years because the cables split right after the warranty ran out. I contacted Shure and they wanted 80 bucks to redo it. I didn't at the time, and now I want to use them again. I contacted them again, and now they won't even recable them...- wiz561

Recabling the Shure SE530
Hi, I've been looking around for a couple of days and saw a few posts from users that recable their Shure SE530. Being that I'm new, I'm wondering if anybody can suggest what kind of cable to use. Some say silver is too 'tin-ey', and to go with copper. I don't want to spend too much money...- wiz561
