Hey guys,   This is kind of a cross-forum post but I've put it in the full size forums as thats where (I think) the problem lays...   So I've bought some new gear these past few months and one thing I notice is that my q-Jays expose more detail than my DT-880 Pro's at a similar volume...

This can get annoying but I keep a set of filters and a safety pin in the little leather case you get with them :)   Quote:

Ok Stang, thanks for your help so far... Reading around I see that my firebox should be good enough as a DAC, as that is in essence one of tis primary purposes. So I think I will pick up a pair of DT880's and then consider which amp to buy. A Zero maybe, or a Compass... but I'll look into...

I'm willing to extend the budget if I can get a good all rounder... the 880's are 'reference' headphones right? so If I ran them out of the cleaner/neutral output of the presonus firebox I could replace my 595's totally? What amplifier would you say would suit the 880's for everything Zero...

OK, Thinking about this more, I think my intention would be to just buy a nice (nicer than my 595's) pair of headphones. Something which is a good all rounder if this is possible, so say I get the DT880's, they cost a bit but I won't use them JUST for gaming, I'd also watch films and TV on...
