Bravo Audio - funny looking little tube amps
Since I now have a lot of diferent types of tubes, i was thinking of changing the tube socket. On Ebay they sell tube sockets pretty cheap, even the gold plated ones, so I want to change the socket to accept a different kind of tube and compare them. It would definetly change the sound, and it...- caceledon

Bravo Audio - funny looking little tube amps
I just bought a bravo V2 on Ebay (for $70, I know quite expensive). This comes with a 12AU7 tube, and since I´ve never had any tube amp before, and have always heard that you have to change the tubes, I went a little crazy buying tubes on Ebay (different types 12AU7A, E88CC, 6922, 6DJ8, CN1P...- caceledon

Upgrade form Alessandro MS-1i / Nuforce uDac
I looked into the bravo amp, and found it on ebay for 89.99 plus 16.00 shipping. On the forums they say it is a 35 dollar amp. This comes with a 6922 tube, aparently much better than the stock tube. Is it worth it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250630993725 Also...- caceledon

Upgrade form Alessandro MS-1i / Nuforce uDac
I live outside the US, so Grados are quite expensive, therefore Alessandros are a much better alternative, would the MS-2 be a good alternative, are the $300 as good a value as you get with the $110 MS-1i- caceledon

Upgrade form Alessandro MS-1i / Nuforce uDac
So, mid range audio technicas, ultrasones, and denons should sound better than DT880 32ohm, and even than the 250 ohm version when paired with my uDac/amp ?- caceledon

Upgrade form Alessandro MS-1i / Nuforce uDac
I just found some DT880 32ohm version, the Nuforce uDac should be powerful enough to drive them, since they are meant for portable devices. The reviews I´ve found on the forums say that there is almost no difference at all with the 250ohm version. The price is 320 shipped, so unless anyone has...- caceledon

Upgrade form Alessandro MS-1i / Nuforce uDac
I have $300 dollars that I want to spend upgrading my current setup of Alessandro MS-1i (with quarter mod sennheiser pads) paired to a Nuforce uDac/amp. My first intention was to buy some Beyerdynamic DT880, AKG K701 or Sennhiser HD600. But after checking the forum, I found some...- caceledon

Do all closed back Headphones make ears hot?
I´ve had bad experiences with close back headphones (sennheiser Eh 150) in the summer, since I don’t have AC on my apartment, and my ears tend to get hot (unbearable). I find earphones far too uncomfortable but I need isolation. I was wondering if hi end close back headphones have the same...- caceledon

DT880 or HD600 with Hifiman EF2?
After much consideration, and taking in account my budget, I´ve decided to buy a HIfiman EF2 dac/amp, and now I need to buy some decent headphones to use it with. My first choice was the akg k701, but everyone advised me that the amp wasn’t powerful enough for them. I listen to a wide variety...- caceledon

affordable amp for akg k701
Would you recommend the k701/ EF2 combo? I´ve been looking around, and decided that on my budget is the best option, but everyone is telling me that the EF2 is not powerful enough to power the k701, and that the bass is the most likely to suffer from this, since the bass is very amp dependent...- caceledon

Please let me know if I’m making the right choice
After more researching, I found this opinions on the forums: 'look into the EF2 which is a hybrid tube amp with usb dac and should also drive the K701 nicely." "The EF2 has recently been recommended for use with the K701." "after an appropriate burn in i´m enjoying the ef2 with NOS Raytheon...- caceledon

Please let me know if I’m making the right choice
Is the HiFiman EF2 really not up to the job of powering the K701? I read somewhere on this forum that it was. But if not, what would be a good alternative for around the same price. I would prefer a DAC / amp solution, since my primary source is a computer. If nothing within the price range can...- caceledon

Please let me know if I’m making the right choice
I’ve been researching around the web for about a week looking for a good pair of headphones. The primary use will be at home, with a computer as source, but I would like it if I could use them at work as well (hopefully don’t leak to much sound, but let sound in, since I need to hear what is...- caceledon
