Used my new 325is for some hirez (24/176khz) digital recording of a classical ensemble live to 2 track.  I find Grados are perfect for string ensembles.  The group is the Atlanta Chamber Players, with several members from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Just curious...if I add a quality DAC like Cypher Labs or similar to my Classic, will it have a bigger impact than adding the amp or is it about the same?   If the iPod Classic is putting out sound at around a 50 on a scale of 100, where does the amp take the sound and where does the DAC...

I see iBasso has a cable for a reasonable $36.  Does anyone know how this compares to the ALO SXC cable at $135 or similar model?   I'd like to save some money here but I don't want to shortchange the sound quality...any advice?
