Are all tracks on Amazon HD sampled at 192kZh? (According to Chord Mojo: Yes)

Hello All, I'd say about 90% or more of the recordings on Amazon are labeled as HD audio quality, which they define as 16-bit/44.1kHz, or what I believe to be CD SQ, but when I play these recordings using a Chord Mojo as my DAC/headphone amp, the Mojo says all the tracks on Amazon HD are...

    Chord Mojo and iPhone compatibility?

I used the chord that @ScornDefeat recommended, and, to my ears, it sounds way worse than the chord that comes with the chord mojo+apple camera adapter Everything sounds so harsh and congested with this chord. I never thought that chords really matter, but... FWIW.. The headphones I use are...

    Chord Mojo and iPhone compatibility?

Hello, I have an iPhone 8 and use the Chord Mojo with the cord that it came with connected to the official Apple camera adaptor, and more than half of this time that I try using this setup, the phone does not recognize the Mojo and the music plays through the phone speaker instead of the...

    Ipod Classic 160g, Fall 2010

Yesterday, the Ipod classic that i bought in October of 2009 was replaced at an Apple Store free of charge, since I had 20 days left on a free one-year warranty. This Ipod sounds completely different than the one I bought last year. For starters, it has a considerably higher max volume; I don't...

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?

On second thought, maybe it would be best to make the samples as diverse as possible.

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?

Maybe it would be best to limit your samples to rock and hip-hop since thats pretty much all i listen too. Thanks, Andrew

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?

Sure, I'd be willing to particpate in this test; just let me know when and were you post the samples. If i can, i will be willing to give a detailed and specific list of difference between the two samples.

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?

In a side by side A/B experiment, I can tell the difference between 320 ACC and Apple Lossless after 20 seconds well over 90 percent of the time. My previous claim that all ambience is lost in 320 ACC is obvious hyberbole; but, a lot of ambience is lost-enough for me to notice almost every...

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?

I don't even have great audio equipment, just shure 420 buds and AKG 240 headphones, and I can tell the difference between 320 ACC and Apple Lossless every single time on either set of headphones. On the 320 ACC, speaking in non-technical term, all the ambience seems to have been removed: the...

The S.Q. on ipod classic is awful

Yes, that is true but they sound different on my home stereo and car stereo with shure 420's with akg k240. Infact, even my gf(no audiophile) who can listen to music on monitor speakers commented on the difference without me ever mentioning anything to her. I have no doubts it's true.

ipods within the same generation might be different

Since Apple is very secretive about their components and there are dramatic differences between ipods of different generations I think its perfectly reasonable to wonder if there can be differences between ipods of the same generation but different production runs.

Big S.Q. difference between ipod 5 and 5.5

First off i'm using: AKG k240 shure 420 all mp3's are encoded at 320kbs ACC equalizer off and there is a huge difference in sound between the ipod 5 and 5.5. The difference is as great as the difference between the 5.0 and ipod classic. The 5.0 has muted highs(rolled-off?) a chunkier...

The S.Q. on ipod classic is awful

Update: After listening to the 5.5 ipod for a bit i think i prefer the 5.0. Pros 5.5 Cleaner sound(headphone jack routing) Better highs Tighter bass Pros 5.0 Amazing mids

The S.Q. on ipod classic is awful

Hi all, I had been using an ipod video 5.0 generation paired with shure 420 buds and akg k240 cups for a couple of years until i dropped the thing and broke the hard drive. So I went on craigs list and picked up an 80G Classic for $100 and thought it was a great deal. Loaded the thing up with...

Looking for best headphone under $200

No I'm not using an amplifier. I would prefer a headphone i can use without an amp but would consider getting one if it's the only way to drive good headphones with an ipod but i would prefer a pair that an ipod can drive. thanks everyone for the imput so far. I'm still undecided and...

Looking for best headphone under $200

Hi everyone, I just bought the AKG k240 from a retail store for $100 and I'm not to happy with them. I feel that the bass is flabby and undefined and the highs are dull to non-existant so I am planning to return them. Is this considered a good headphone in that price range? Now I'm looking...
