I am sure this question have been answered somewhere in this thread. Are the wooden series just the bamboo version of the teak?

I have a sennheiser GSX1200 connected to a tube amp to a HD660s. I find the bass response suffers when the dac volume goes above 75%. So I kept it moderate at around 50-60 to still feed a good strong signal to the amp.

I got the HD660s when it first came out and immediately sold my HD6xx bc it sounded much faster and I enjoy the upper mid with female vocals. From the reviews, the HD660S2 sounds more like the HD650.

It seems like the 660S2 is more similar to the HD650 than a bassier version of 660s. I like my 660S a lot more than my previous HD650, which I find the sound too slow and warm for modern music.

If anyone wants to buy it, it will come with a new set of unused earplugs as well.

Before returning the IE80, try doing the tape mod. Just place a tape to cover the bass adjustment port. I just did it to my and it did help with the mid bass and brought the mids out. Even with the tape mod, the IE80 will still be a bass heavy IEM.

The ie80 does have that smooth and easy sennheiser sound. But the mid will not be the focus and have a big mid bass. Sound stage is incredible though. The mid bass does bleed into the mids/vocal in some songs imo

If those spiral dot work out. I highly recommend you look into westone. They are just as comfortable as the ie80

They are not really snap offs. It's almost impossible to properly reinstall the stock pads once they are taken apart, unless you glue them back. They are glued with a clip mechanism.
