CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
What's the most isolating chifi IEM in this segment, that still sounds good? Like some etymotics etc in terms of stopping outside noise as much as possible?- voon

Headphone for synthesizers (< 300$)?
The last (and only) thread I found was small and from quite a while ago ... so I thought I better start a new one than go necro. I got several Synths, digital workstations like a Yamaha MODX, analogs like a Korg Minilogue XD etc. I thought about a few things with relations to synths: - Synths...- voon

Best sub 50$ IEM for a 12yo girl? (Chi-Fi is fine)
12 means not overly large ears, so very bulky ones can't reall ybe used. Also, it being a girl, she won't like very agressively styled things. What would you recommend for this use case? Chi Fi is fine. Pricewise, I guess the ZS10 Pros would be up there, but they seem to be quite bulky...- voon

Looking for a budget headphone DAC
Strangely, I'm quite happy with my Startech ICUSBAUDIO2D .. costs nothing and delivers quite well. It does have a bit of noise/hiss when nothing plays, but I don't hear that while music runs anyway. If you're not against certain chiense vending platforms, there're a few interesting options tthere.- voon

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
I bet :) The problem is I get total contradictions, a 180 degrees opposite to the extremes, not just slight variations in taste ... of course it depends on taste or the things you know to compare to or quality control ... but "Chi-Fi Reviews" on youtube calls the D4 simply "bad" etc ... not...- voon

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Hm .... an interesting remark, given how many audio channels promote both T2 and T3 and the D4 is less than 10 USD atm on AliExpress. Now I'm quite confused.- voon

TOPPING DX3 Pro
I wanted to add a followup to my faulty unit, which had destroyed two cheap headphones (with mics), where Topping offered a new unit to me at Xmas. This new unit has arrived today (it's warming up in ambient .. don't want to start an icecold unit). Service from topping in this my case was good...- voon

Topping DX3Pro .. the destroyer of headphones? Or the wrong one plugged in?
So far yes ... but I'm not sure it can be linked to that, because initially, the first of them worked fine for a minute, then suddenly died and got hot. I also had a pair of UE TF10 on it for around 10 Minutes before the incident which thank god didn't fry. Topping reacted nice so far: They're...- voon

TOPPING DX3 Pro
@mhoopes Thanks for responding. I wouldn't know the name .. it's just generic stuff that came with my (android) mobile phones I used for testing .. they both worked fine, though. One of them was happily playing stereo, then suddenly my right ear got hot .. or rather, the right IEM. I'm not...- voon

Topping DX3Pro .. the destroyer of headphones? Or the wrong one plugged in?
Anyone with electronic knowledge around? The seller is telling me "that I should have used real headphones" and that "IEMs with too low impendance can be destroyed" by this amp. I'd call that complete rubbish, since they worked fine initially and can be set to acceptable volumes with the volume...- voon

TOPPING DX3 Pro
I got mine ..... does this thing destroy IEMs with a Mic (i.e. TRRS)? It ran fine for me for a while and then fried the right channel .. headphone destroyed. Tested it with a cheap crapphone off a phone I never use anyway ... fried the right again .. cracked it open and measured voltages ... I...- voon

Topping DX3Pro .. the destroyer of headphones? Or the wrong one plugged in?
I got my new Topping DX3 pro DAC/Amp and at first I used it at home and it worked with a pair of UE TF10 I had in it ... now at work I plugged in two headphones .. one worked fine for a while ... but then sudenly the right IEM would heat up and die ... tried another set of very cheap crap things...- voon

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
I'll give them another chance, but only up to the (very long ... another 45 days) "closing time" for the order .. I'll file a complaint then. It's a pair of BGVP DM6s I really wanted to arrive ... everything else came from ali, but not the most important order :frowning2: I assume the "7-10 days...- voon

Does anyone know the "BANGGOOD store on ali? Is that the official ali side of the banggood webshop or a fake? I waited 19 days now without a tracking number .. and now it says "shipping cancelled" and the seller tells me they cancelled it because the parcel was damaged and asks me to wait...- voon

The Zishan dsd's corner
Er, coaxial is the type of cable used .. S/PDIF is what's being run over said cable .. a digital audio standard. EDIT: oh .. it was an input vs output question. I seem to be confused recently.- voon

The Zishan dsd's corner
I got my Z3 DSD with an AK4497EQ yesterday. Bought it for 104ish USD out of curiosity. It's a fun little box ... it's thickness has this "handmade retro feel" of sorts ... I quite like this spartan look. I attached some UE TF10 to it and it sounds lovely to my ears at least ... I have no channel...- voon

What's the best USB audio cable for the money?
You heard that yourself? Were both the same length? What you need isn't a silly expensive cable ... just a shortest possible well shielded properly made one .. those can be had under 10$ usually. But I'm not going to fight beliefs here :) Maybe this helps...- voon

What's the best USB audio cable for the money?
A proper, normal, shielded USB cable (on Ali, probably one from ugreen or other similar reliable brand). For USB in Audiomode (which has no error correction like USB Data transfer, where all cables are fine), chances to influence a transferred bit in a normal environment are still totally...- voon

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
I strangely only have the issue with the HF5. I use UE TF10 since years and various others (optoma sports etc) .. none of them ever muted themselves due to a blocked filter .. but they all have a larger diameter. Will have to see .. the suggestion of an earbud with a guard is interesting, if i...- voon

What's good about those? I tend to have difficulties getting silicone tips to stick in my ear with whatever shape or size ... but I keep trying, because I like the somewhat more hygienic aspect of them.- voon
