What does it mean when cans are "inefficient"?
Folks! I've been on this forum for years and never thought to spend time in this subforum! This has been a great resource and I've done a lot of reading. So, thank you for existing! I'm technical with computers but much of what "audiophiles" discuss goes right over my head. This question is...- punkaroo

Left channel on Pico Slim is toast :(
I've emailed Justin twice about this issue and haven't heard back. Needless to say, I'm a bit frustrated. My Pico Slim has been a perfect little unit, until recently, I went to listen to some tunes, and only the right channel came through. I tried a different LOD and headphones, and still...- punkaroo

Project Ember Tube Rolling
I kept reading about the impedance switch...and I thought "WHERE is this thing?!" Well, I finally found it. I take it that I remove the plastic piece and replace it where I want it? For low, or high? It's set to medium. I need to pick up some Deoxit eventually. That stuff is expensive, man!- punkaroo

Project Ember Tube Rolling
I'm finding this amp is similar to my DNA Sonett; it does its job and gets out of the way, allowing you to just enjoy your music. David, do you find your Telefunken to be noisy in the Ember? I was also looking at a Mullard 12AX7 on eBay. DAMN YOU EBAY!- punkaroo

Project Ember Tube Rolling
I purchased a pair of Mad Dogs with Alpha Pads off a HF user a few months back. I just received my Ember 2.0, and my Amperex "Orange Globe" 12AT7 tube from eBay. I purchased a Tung Sol 12AT7 from Jeremy, but found it just "okay". It's not very engaging or fun. I'm listening to the Orange...- punkaroo

Toronto Winter/Spring Meet
Does anyone want to hear a DNA Sonett? I may be lazy and bring my laptop, DAC and Mad Dogs only. I want to hear a few amps there :) But if there's interest, I'll pack it up. And I may only be staying a few hours.- punkaroo

Is the price going up after the pre-order? I've been considering buying a used Predator, but the price of the Element is around the same, and it's new.- punkaroo

Heya Chris :) I'm looking for a Telefunken 12AT7, or a Phillips Miniwatt 12AT7, Telefunken 12AX7, Tung Sol 12AX7. If you have any Amperex Bugle Boys (Holland) and/or Orange Globes, all the better. If I think of anything else, I'll post it here :)- punkaroo
