I currently own Denon AH-C551K IEMs, and I'm a big fan of them, but I've been thinking about upgrading eventually. I just got M9's. :(   Oh well, they're still pretty good. Not as good as my Denon AH-C551k's, but still good. They' sound worth $22, so it's fine.

I just ordered one. Wonder what I'll get?   I doubt whatever I get will be better than my Denon AH-C551k's, but I'll have to try them out and compare :)

Sadly this is a friend I don't live near, so I can't have her listen to my headphones. I just needed some people to back me up on the fact that there are much better headphones for the money. She pretty much only wants the Beats because of how they look. Which I can't understand, because IMO...

Why no amp? Grab a FiiO E5. I have one, it works really well for the price. Even works well on the go since it has a clip. Think 2nd gen ipod shuffle. just clip it to your shirt.

The ATH-A700s are closed, so I would consider them isolating enough. The ATH-AD700 is the open-air variant.
