Audio-Technica Announces Revised ART Monitor Series, New Open Headphones
Are there any reviews out there of the TAD-500 yet? I'm wondering if it'd be worth it to upgrade to them coming from my AD700.- Redmist

Best speakers ~$100?
Okay, with school starting up again in a month, I want to buy some speakers. These will only be used for listening to music while I study, which I like to do on my bed instead of at my desk. I previously bought a long 3.5mm cable to run over to the bed in order to use my headphones while I...- Redmist

IEM upgrade worth it?
Quote: Yeah, I would say something around $200 is what I was expecting in order for it to be an upgrade from what I have now. As for the music I listen to, I'm kind of all over the place, but instrumental/post-rock stuff is my favorite. Examples...- Redmist

IEM upgrade worth it?
I currently own Denon AH-C551K IEMs, and I'm a big fan of them, but I've been thinking about upgrading eventually. I've been eying up some of the Etymotic Research models, do you guys think it would be worth upgrading to something by them? I haven't decided on a specific model yet, as I'm unsure...- Redmist

MEElectronics "M What?" Promotion
I just got M9's. :( Oh well, they're still pretty good. Not as good as my Denon AH-C551k's, but still good. They' sound worth $22, so it's fine.- Redmist

MEElectronics "M What?" Promotion
I just ordered one. Wonder what I'll get? I doubt whatever I get will be better than my Denon AH-C551k's, but I'll have to try them out and compare :)- Redmist

List all your headphones/iem that you broke or lost
Koss SB-45. I broke 3-4 pairs of those. Granted, Koss did replace them with a brand new pair every time they broke, I just got tired of paying to ship the broken ones back. After than I picked up a pair of Koss SB-40's, and I used those up until I bought my sound card and AD-700's...- Redmist

Help me convince my friend not to buy Beats by Dr. Dre!
Sadly this is a friend I don't live near, so I can't have her listen to my headphones. I just needed some people to back me up on the fact that there are much better headphones for the money. She pretty much only wants the Beats because of how they look. Which I can't understand, because IMO...- Redmist

Are Full Sized Cans suitable for iPhone 3G w/no amp? (Impedance?)
Why no amp? Grab a FiiO E5. I have one, it works really well for the price. Even works well on the go since it has a clip. Think 2nd gen ipod shuffle. just clip it to your shirt.- Redmist

Well, I go back and fourth between my Mom's house and my Dad's, and I like to travel light, so I'm gona pick up a second set of headphones to keep at my Dad's house. The question is, what? I currently have ATH-AD700s, and I was really tempted to just get a second pair since they're going for...- Redmist

The ATH-A700s are closed, so I would consider them isolating enough. The ATH-AD700 is the open-air variant.- Redmist

My left ear canal is smaller than my right?
Yup, I just got my Denon AH-C551s today, and they fit snug into my right ear using the medium ear pad, but for my left ear, the medium falls out, so I use a small on the left and the medium on the right. Am I a freak of nature, or is this somewhat common? In any case, they sound great, my...- Redmist
