Anyone Using Archos 80 G9 Turbo Tablet?

Quote: Hi I have bumped into you in a few forums in searching for the evasive line out.  I own the Nokia 808 which offers USB OTG Line out but I also wish to pursue for my tablet --- I own Galaxy Tab 7.7 -- great tablet but seems like it will no longer be officially supported beyond ICS...

Do you need an audiophile grade MP3 player when you already have an audiophile grade portable amp?

It seems nobody mentions RWA (or other) I-Mod any more --- is there a reason for this? Or is it only because people only get excited about newer players?   Quote:

Finally, digital out for Galaxy SIII

I think it has more to do with Google modifying its kernels  (or a manufacturer doing so as Archos did)

Is the ultrasone edition 8 the right headphone for me?

Yep -- and politically correct is not always a bad thing as too many people use the claim of "not being politically correct" as an excuse for being rude or inflammatory

Is the ultrasone edition 8 the right headphone for me?

Hmmm -- the things I do for fellow headfiers ...  found a tape measure --- the diameters from the insides of each side of the pad is height: 6cm  width: 4cm.   these are maximum measurements with tape measure placed firmly against inside of leather pads         Quote:

Is the ultrasone edition 8 the right headphone for me?

Cannot really do measurements, but maybe this image will help give an idea.   http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/17/ultrasone-edition-8-headphones-hands-on-and-impressions/   One thought is--- if you are brave enough to go down that route-- there are plenty of 2nd hand Ed 8s on Ebay etc. I...

Is the ultrasone edition 8 the right headphone for me?

Quote:   Hi --- I am an owner of the Edition 8s and  also previously owned the edition 9s.  Here are some general thoughts in order from most positive to most negative:   SOUND QUALITY: GRADE A -- The Ed8 are fantastic cans -- they can handle any genre and provide a rich detailed...

    iMod 5.5 80 GB ---> Emmelline "The Blackbird" SR-71A ---> Sennheiser HD800 - suitable setup?

Quote: Lol --- that is a lot of bulk to carry around.  I have an RWA I-Mod and I am very familiar with the blackbird and I think you are off to an excellent start.  Like the previous poster I would question the use of the HD-800 for portable use (Transportable maybe) due to size, lack of...

    Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread

Not to sound like a fanboy or anything but these are easily my favorite iems.  I owned the IE8 and these are a big improvement in terms of cleaning up the bass and being more transparent.   Soundstage is fantastic.   I have owned IE8, Westone3, Shure SE535, UE Triple.fi 10s as well as...

Is this a Palladium Ultrasone 8?

Hmmmmm -- well I own the Rutheniums (Love the sound but they area bit small for me) and have listed mine for sale locally.   Here in Singapore the going rate for second hand Edition 8s with full kit (Pouch, Box etc) is about US$800 ---- so that is certainly a good price.   I was curious...

Finally, digital out for Galaxy SIII

I believe the D5 is a Japan only product --- I cannot recall ever seeing one -- so no -- that is one I did not test.  I did test the D12 (and its predecessor the D10 which I own) among the others and had no luck.

Finally, digital out for Galaxy SIII

Hi all --- I cannot speak to the Galaxy SIII --- but I have been testing extensively with the Nokia 808 which has USB OTG (along with its ancestor the N8.).    I can confirm:   1) Fiio E7 and Ordnance.25 work perfectly -- they also have switches to turn off USB charging, thus preserving...

Best Headphones For Comfort -- Big Head and Large Ears??

Quote:  Yes the V-Moda M100 could be interesting, from what I have read though some people felt the size of the M80s was a bit small and apparently the M100 will be sized the same.  Too bad --- it seems many on here areV-Moda fans ---- I have never heard them the 80s -- will wait to see...

Best Headphones For Comfort -- Big Head and Large Ears??

Quote: I actually had some Beyers back in the day -- DT-150 and DT-250.  Actually liked them for what they were --- entry level introductions to world of higher end closed phones.  Not sure about the 770s -- just not familiar with them -- the 880s seem to be popular here --- maybe need to...

Best Headphones For Comfort -- Big Head and Large Ears??

Quote: Thank you ---- of the products you mention I have only actually heard the Denon D5000.  They seem to get a lot of love on headfi but I found the base to be a bit overwhelming --- booming and leaking over the mids.  To be fair I only had about 30 minutes with them.   The JVCs...

Best Headphones For Comfort -- Big Head and Large Ears??

HaHa-- OK funny thread title aside I am totally serious. I currently own Ultrasone Edition 8s and I am happy with them except that they go over my ears rather than around, clamp them down quite tightly, and in the hot and humid climate I live in, cause me to take them off after maybe a maximum...

Ok if its working for you then it must be I am feeding it too much Music.  I have 58+GB on the micro SD and it crashes on Library Scan --- First time at 60% again 50% then 90%.   Too bad -- it really looks like a good player in terms of features.   As it is only Beta I can hope he gets...

Regarding Music Launcher -- I downloaded this but I am not that savvy about self-signed Nokia apps yet.   The fact that it was requesting calling permissions was enough for me to cancel the installation.

Have searched all over the web and the only Player I have found that supports FLAC is "Folders Play" ---- not very good reviews in ovi store though and price is S$4.99 Singapore Dollars.  No trial version and I have a thing against developers who will not offer a trial first -- even if only for...
