How do you convert a CD into MP3 files?
www.exactaudiocopy.de for EAC. The LAME link escapes me at the moment but there is a compiled DLL that integrates nicely into EAC though you lose some of the advanced controls that you get with the command line version. Use Google and search for LAME DLL.- Nezer

insomnia is driving me CRAZY!!!!
Sleeping pills may not be good for you but neither is NO SLEEP! I've found melotonin to be much more natural and gentle. But it's also less effective. Nytol isn't working so well on me these days so I doubt melotonin would have much effect at all. Insomnia is a symptom of an underlying...- Nezer

some guys website garding mp3 vs. shn
I think this person seems totally happy with 256k MP3s despite what that last waveform clearly showed--that it's signficantly degraded from the original. I myself am pretty happy with my MP3s but, given the choice, I'll take a lossless format. MP3s are just REALLY convienient becasue I can...- Nezer

Porta Corda Distorting my 590's! Why?
Hmm... I'd fire-off a note to Dr. Meier and see what he has to say. Are you sure the new battery was new?- Nezer

OH NO!...the Cardas smurf cable is INCREDIBLE!!
Quote: Originally posted by andrzejpw the equinox and cardas > the clou, IN MY opinion. The thing is, the equinox is $50 more. . . is it worth it? That's the question. Considering the wait for the Cardas, perhaps. That $50 also buys better connectors and potentially custom lengths...- Nezer

insomnia is driving me CRAZY!!!!
You could have an underlying medical problem. I was recently diagnosed with Graves' disease and I think I've gotten only two full-night's of sleep in the last month. I can only usually get a full nights sleep when I pop a few Nytol. Even then it's hit and miss.- Nezer

OH NO!...the Cardas smurf cable is INCREDIBLE!!
It doesn't take golden ears to be a believer. The sound is night and day. BTW, I consider my ears to be more like lead or tin than gold. The Cardas really makes me feel like I'm right there in the rrom with the performers. I could have never imagined a cable being so, well, transparent...- Nezer

If I bought Sennheiser 580's over 600's would I be dissappointed
I was dissapointed with the Big-O. I think you can do much better for a lot less. Of course if I were given one I would gladly take it. Then I would sell it and buy new HD600s w/ Equinox and Cardas cables, high-end balanced ICs, EAR HP4, and a Cary 306/200 CDP and take my GF out to a nice...- Nezer

DIY mini-to-mini
I disagree with Ricky (big suprise). He is right that solid core breaks more easily but stranded has space between the strands that are subject to oxidation thus impeding electron flow. Using a braided tinned-copper shield will help keep the solid core from breaking as will proper strain... -

The Clash-- "London Calling" in a Jaguar commercial...
Here's a little-known fact about advertising and music... If the advertiser approaches an artist and asks to use a song in a commercial and the artist says no, the advertiser can hire a studio band to perform the song and NOT have to pay royalities to the original artist. One caveat is they... -
Corda HA-1 / Corda Blue Review

It's OK Tuberoller, we all know your a jerk already. ;-) (Just kidding) This poll isn't that simple. My views tend to be on the extremes of both sides depending on the issue. I claim myself to be a libertarian but even then I don't agree with everything they libertarian party does. Here...- Nezer

Great rythm sections in jazz?
Sounds like your talking about Big Band... I'd check out anything by The Count Basie Orchestra. That band has always had one of, if not *the*, tightest rhythm sections in Big Band.
