NEW Foobar app for Android!
I just found and installed a foobar2000 app on android that allows you to control basic functions through your phone essentially making it a remote. It took some help from the dev to get it working since I'm using Win7, but once up and running it's a great little app. The dev also points out...- mmwwhats

advice for pci-e card w/ digital out
I'm looking for a pci-e sound card that outputs digital out via coax and has ASIO2 support. Thing is I don't need ANY other features, so I'd like to not pay for extra features I don't need. Any recommendations for a card that can output audiophile level digital out that meets the above?- mmwwhats

OTL amp recommendations
I'm looking to purchase an OTL tube amp and would like some recommendations as the only ones I know of are SinglePower, Woo Audio WA2, and Eddie Current Zana Duex. I've owned a Singlepower MPX3 and liked the sound. I'm looking to get that type of sound, but don't want to purchase an SP amp...- mmwwhats

Woo Audio WA2 and the PDPS "mod"
Just wanted to share some info with the woophiles out there in headfi land. I contacted Jack at Woo Audio asking if the pseudo dual power suply mod (that is so highly regarded when performed on the WA6) can be performed on the WA2. Jack's response is below: "The WA2 already has PDPS. It is a...- mmwwhats

Can the Woo WA6-SE sound lush and tubey?
I'm considering selling my WA6-SE in exchange for a tubier tube amp, but before I do that I'd like to know if anyone knows of any tube combos (rectifier and drivers) that can make this amp sound lush and tubey. I use the standard tube complement and also own a Philco rectifier, but the amp...- mmwwhats

cable burn in question...
Basic questions: will a cable connecting my CDP to amp burn in if I only leave the CDP playing with the amp off? I ask, because if the amp offers too much of a resistive load to the cables while off then current will not flow through the cables and they will not burn in. Does anyone know?- mmwwhats

Woo WA6 SE Blown Fuse Problem...
My WA6 SE has been blowing fuses and I'm hoping someone here can help. I turned on the amp one night to start warming it up and when I returned about 5 minutes later, the amp was off... the fuse was blown. I changed the fuse to a 3A 250V fast-acting fuse (direct replacement of what was in there)...- mmwwhats

Why does SinglePower increase their price so often?
I've noticed that with all their amps Single Power has increased their prices not so gradually and quite dramatically. I've asked SP why this is done and was told it's due to increases in parts cost... hmm. Woo Audio, that happens to use quite nice parts, hasn't increased their prices in...- mmwwhats

Woo Audio 4 or Single Power Extreme for K701
I'm looking for an amp to drive my K701s. I'm using the Cambridge 840c as a source. I currently own the CI Audio VHP-2 + VAC-1 and the Single Power MPX. Both are fine amps, but don't have the current to drive the K701s properly. I like listening at normal volumes, and at those volumes the...- mmwwhats

CI Audio VHP-2 vs. Single Power MPX - an unfair match?
I own both a CI Audio VHP-2 + VAC-1 and an upgraded Single Power MPX, and thought that after hearing just how good both sound, yet how dissimilar they are in price (the CI Audio combo is $580, while the MPX is $1800 w/ upgrades), that I'd do some head-fiers justice by comparing the two in an...- mmwwhats
