How easy is it to find diagnose and fix a broken amp? Like a car or home audio amp, you know. I want to get one and mess around with it, but I don't have a lot of money right now so I could get a broken one and try to fix it or something.

It sends DTS/DD signals to my receiver with DVDs, but when I try to play a DD file in Xbox Media Center it is just noise. Does anyone have any ideas? I turned on DTS and DD passthrough and turned off all resampling, but it still doesn't play correctly. Does it resample in hardware maybe?
