Anyone move from a Chromecast Audio to a Rasberry Pi based source?
Have a chromecast right now, and after some posts in a different forum, I did a listen to it against a USB audio input from a tablet both into an NFB-28 Audio-Gd. I really didnt think I would but there definitely was an audible difference. Is a Raspberry Pi over Coax going to sound better than...- gatorengineer64

Are there any UPNP or Chromecast products in the price range between Chromecast Audio and Sonore Microorbiter
Can't seem to find anything in between these two products in price, Looking for Coaxial Digital out, and something a little better perhaps than the Chromecast. Not crazy about $300.... I would have assumed there would be a bunch or products.....- gatorengineer64

Best Wireless way to get music wirelessly from a NAS to an Audio-GD NFB 28 DAC
I am looking for suggestions here. WHat I do seems really clunky and inefficent, but perhaps its not. I go NAS to WDTV Live, out HDMI into a splitter, and into the NFB as coaxial.... I control it off of UPNP using bubble up. Please critique and advise on a better way. I would assume...- gatorengineer64

Finally got 24/96 FLAC working over DLNA/UPNP.........
A major victory for me, perhaps its been academic for most here. But the final piece of the puzzle was an upgraded router, in my case the Asus -68 series the difference it made over the 66 was impressive, as far as being able to stream monster flac files. not sure if it would push 24/192 or...- gatorengineer64

European / Asian Binaural Albums and Websites
I recently discovered Binaural recordings and am blown away by many of them (Can, Ottmar Liebart, and the Chesky's). The sites in the US that I am aware of that have some of these are Chesky/HDtracks, Amazon, and the Milwaukee Sympony Orchestra. Overseas I have discovered the Society of...- gatorengineer64

How much of an upgrade would a Stax SR-007a Mk2 be over an HE-500
Like the HE-500 but the bug has bitten. How much of an upgrade would the Stax be? Night and day or subtle? Thanks I assume the plug on the Stax is a standard balanced plug, and any good amp can be used correct?- gatorengineer64

Looking for a balanced ESS9018 DAC / Amp to drive HE-500's Looking for the best bang for the buck.
I really like my Audio-gd NFB 11.32 and my HE-500's what would the forum suggest as an affordable 9018 based dac/amp? Any products outside the Audio-GD stable? E.G. less than say $700. I find you can usually get 80+% of the performance for 20% of the price for many things..... This counts...- gatorengineer64

Amazon Fire TV could be a game changer for audiophiles
With two ifs..... If you can sideload USB Audio Player Pro If you can sideload a streamer like Slick UPNP which allows you to choose the local render (USB Audio Player Pro). Be able to stream 24/96 and possibly 192 goodness over USB- gatorengineer64

Possible way to get 24 bit audio out of an android smartphone
I have been looking for a way to stream 24 bit files to my phones from my DLNA NAS. I have been using my S4 with an Audio-GD DAC, and to my HE-500s but it doesnt sound that great, and I believe the S4 is the problem. Samsun Galaxy S4 versus Oppo 103 as a source component? Audible difference?
Try my question a different way. Would an OPPO 103 provide an audibly better source Signal to an Audio-GD NFB11 over SPDIF, versus a Samsung Galaxy S4 over USB? Assume high quality source material. Thanks in advance Mark- gatorengineer64

Whats the weak line in this chain Samsung Galaxy S4 / Audio-GD NFB- 11.32 / HE-500 phones
Question for the experts. Whats the weak link in the chain of connecting my phone a Galaxy S4 to stream from a DLNA server using the USB out function, to Audio-GD 11.32 driving HE-500 cans? Cabelling is all generic stuff BTW. The files are generally high quality FLACs and better, I have a...- gatorengineer64

Next Bang for the buck step up from Re-400s advice sought (IEMS)
Long time lurker first time poster. After hanging out here for a while in the shadows I bought an pair of HE-500s' and an Audio GD 11.32... really couldnt be happier (at least for now)....
