Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
I'm lucky that I'm not experiencing any of the hissing even when the computer is turned off. I am using a 3-pin UK plug. There's a section in the manual under "Avoiding Hum and Noise" which points out several causes for hums and hisses in the system; have a go at them. Just curious...- spidey

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
Right out of the box, they were not really impressive, they sounded closed in and boomy. But after a week, they sound more airy and natural. The bass has firmed up noticeably as well. I would say they are really good for vocals, instrumental music, and rock in general, but not so much for...- spidey

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Just got this and I must say the resolution is phenomenal. Being a fan of Grado sound, I welcome the sweet clarity it provides. And the Comply tips are a nice touch; I m impressed with how comfortable and conforming they are. Personally, the foam tips provide a better seal than the silicone...- spidey

Review : AUDINST HUD-MX1 DAC/amp - a promising newcomer (compared to Audio-gd FUN, AMB Gamma2)
Hi Dannytang Thx for the reply :) Guess that's an option, but am afraid that it'll distort the sound. According to the manual, we're supposed to max out the volume on the computer, but I find the sound coming out sounds "strained". As such, I adjust the volume to about 60-70%...- spidey

Review : AUDINST HUD-MX1 DAC/amp - a promising newcomer (compared to Audio-gd FUN, AMB Gamma2)
Is it possible to mod the Audinst such that we can bypass the volume control and used it purely as a DAC? Thinking of hooking it up to a dedicated amp but dont want the hassle of adjusting volume on both the audinst and the amp.- spidey

Poll: What's your pad of choice with a stock Grado or Alessandro?
After trying them all (comfies, bowls, jumbos and flats) on my HF2, the flats came out as the winner with the right amount of slam and vocal intimacy which i like, plus they are really comfortable. The bowls can get a bit uncomfortable after awhile. The jumbos are comfortable but...- spidey

New Marantz SA-8004
Thx for the info Amham. I kinda regretted ripping my CDs using Apple's Lossless (.m4a) as most players doesn't support this format. Anyhow, am looking forward to your further impressions on the player. Edit: Having read the manual, I am quite sure the rear USB input (as well...- spidey
