I've listened to some IEM n headphones, but has zero idea how CIEM would sound. Demo-ed a few, but I think it could've sound different with close to perfect seal in CIEM version. So, here I'd ask everyone (yay!) for recommendation(s) on CIEM based on the preferences: 1. Music: Mostly vocals...- autumnholy

The Golden Triangle: A short impression between T50p, DT1350 & T51p
Beyerdynamic has just released its t51p, a refreshed version of t50p. It looks very similar to t50p, and only under close inspection can you circle the differences. Today I'd like to make a short note (for anyone interested to read) about: The perceived difference between t50p, DT1350, and...- autumnholy

So I just hope to clarify about the WAV n FLAC (and all other compressed lossless)
When playback, all the file will be upsampled to 1411kbps, 44.1KHz 16Bits like the WAV format? Even though the FLAC file only has 380Kbps file? So what about the native 24Bits, 96KHz Flac file? What would they be converted to when during playback? My doubt arises when I stumbled...- autumnholy

Ocharaku Donguri
Spotted this new IEM with the Ocharaku tag. (Picture from FujiyaAVIC facebook page) Since I'm a big fan of the 4-Sui, I wonder how this IEM fares. This is gonna be an interesting year, with me yet to try out the Kaede, waiting for the GR7007, and several other coming...- autumnholy

Can we re-create the sound signature of a specific IEM?
Lately I've heard the Final Audio Design Piano Forte VIII IEM. Almost everyone I knew who've heard it agrees that it gave a feeling of vintage sound. The bass isn't powerful, so as the veiled treble. But it's just unique that I don't know what's happening. I can't seem to find a FR graph...- autumnholy

IEM flagship, which should I go for? (with impressions on brief encounter)
Hi, I'm looking for be-end flagship IEM which suits my listening experience. Previously I was a happy-pop lover, but slowly shifted to something with extra kick (Bon Jovi, to be precise). Lately, I discovered that my song preference slowly changed to something slower (like jazz vocals...- autumnholy

mp3 burn in
Does MP3 player needs burn in? Or is it reserved for higher grade audiophile mp3 player? Because I read somewhere in the internet forum that the user/spokesperson said some particular mp3 player needs burn in to sound better, eg. to tame down the bass and treble. What's the science behind?- autumnholy

Listening fatigue
Just wanna ask you guys, do you experience this? Over a listening session, if I listen to the song (at moderately loud volume) for more than 30 mins, I'll experience something like my ears ain't capturing the details anymore. I will have to put more effort to notice the song itself. It...- autumnholy

Ocharaku: Flat-4-Sui. The Sound of Tea.
Imagine yourself sipping warm tea while the sound of flowing fountain inside your ears. That's Flat-4-Sui, an IEM of art. First and foremost, this IEM has a V-Shaped FR. The mids (especially vocals) are laid back. The story thus far: I've been listening on my Shure SE535LTD...- autumnholy

Denon Ah-C100 impression
Stopped by a local headphone store, tried the Ah-C100 on a few tracks on iPod Classic Rockbox ed (no eq, crossfeed Simple, no extra bass/treble boost/gain). Tyll and Stevie's discourse
Saw the discourse between Tyll and Steve? Link Love to listen to each other's opinion, even if it doesn't stick to my own beliefs. What do ya'll think? Dated: 22/10/12 Edit: Misspelled "Steve". Edit 2: Steve mentioned: They (The engineers in the Headphone company)...- autumnholy

Are newbies more subjected to "Burn-in"?
Here's a poll. I just have a question for ya'll. Remembering your first time owning a decent (expensive) gear from a relatively poor (very cheap) headphones, do you feel yourself experiencing large impact of "Burn-in"? I mean, you used to own a, say, Apple earbuds, and then you upgraded to...- autumnholy

FR range: Does it matter?
I noticed that for IEMs, BA drivers normally have shorter FR range, say 20Hz~17KHz, whereas dynamic drivers normally have the standard 20Hz~20KHz. Besides, some expensive headphones have raher astonishing 5Hz~40KHz FR range. So, my question is, does it matter? AFAIK, normally human doesn't...- autumnholy

BA and Dynamics

DAC - Deadly Audio Confusion
Kinda confused here due to the lack of technical knowledge. What's the difference between one DAC to the other? What I heard was that this DAC can support 24 bit, this DAC can support 32 bit, this one only support 16 bit. OR This DAC is much clearer, the sound is more detailed...- autumnholy

"scale up" and "potential"
I've read and heard stuffs about some headphones have lots of "unexplored potential" where when pairing with certain "higher end" headphone amplifiers, it can "scale up" pretty well. Things like tighter bass, wider soundstage, and like the example of HD650, becoming "not so dark", whereas the...- autumnholy

IEM amping

Currently, I'm driving my T70 (250 Ohm) direct out from Centrance Dacport LX (This version is without amp). Burn in...our ears!
Just wondering, people speak about burning in their audio equipment. But have we wonder, are we actually burning in our ears.
