Increasing the filter capacitance of the Schiit Midgard
they would not fit in the case laying down to the left, they could be raised and laid down to the right, but im afraid the length of the legs would add too much resistance in a circuit that wouldn’t account for that- anorphirith

Increasing the filter capacitance of the Schiit Midgard
Thank you! I upgraded the power supply from 1.5 to 2.4amps. the caps I chose have better specs and happened to be more expensive than the “audiophile” grade Nichicon- anorphirith

Increasing the filter capacitance of the Schiit Midgard
I ended up increasing the filter capacitors. I kinda went overboard and quadrupled the capacitance to 44,000uF so 9166uF per watt The amp sounds like it was “lazy” before. It’s now fuller, more distance between the instruments, and since everything extends the clarify has also improved. I’d say...- anorphirith

Schiit Midgard - Impressions Thread
I received my Midgard, it sounds amazing, incredible soundstage and details. it's the best amp I've heard since my SuSy Dynahi. I picked and ordered new capacitors for it with 4x the capacitance while having less resistance. I checked the specs of the components they should match. I also got a...- anorphirith

Increasing the filter capacitance of the Schiit Midgard
I noticed the difference between the Midgard and other Schiit products is the ratio of filter capacitance to the power. Jotunheim : 6w @32ohm | 65,000uF | 10,833uF per watt Mjolnir : 2w @32ohm | 20,000uF | 10,000uF per watt Lyr : 6w @32ohm | 55,000uF | 9166uF per watt...- anorphirith

sounds stage issues, 2 planars vs 2 dynamic
the Yamaha CR-620 (TO-3 transistors) did help with the planars soundstage but nowhere close to what the dynamic pair could do- anorphirith

sounds stage issues, 2 planars vs 2 dynamic
I've been doing AB testing for a couple hours comparing my new Aeon 2 and the T50RP to the MDR-XB700 and the BT DT770pro ( kinda random but I was really just testing my new Aeon2s ) I used my genelec M030 as reference. I found the usual findings, the Aeon2 having the highest clarity and texture...- anorphirith
