Yes, the G6 will then very much be like the Japanese V34 Isai Beat, but perhaps even better. The rumoured 5.7 inch screen is 1440 x 2880 pixels so that would equal a 5.2 inch screen of the old 1440 x 2560 ratio. So it could very well be a couple of millimeters smaller than the G5. I...- marcswede

In which areas, soundwise, would you say DX200 is an upgrade over DX90? I love the voicing of DX90 and maybe it's time to upgrade...- marcswede

Yep, that's probably the EU regulations putting a software limit to volume. My Axon 7 basically goes as high as I need, but not more. With US firmware I've heard it can go crazy loud.- marcswede

I haven't heard the HTC 10 but I doubt it can compete with the Mojo or surpass LG V20 (though YMMV). However, reading the specs of Snapdragon 835 makes me think that what you need for good sound is not really a better DAC but a top notch amplification stage: "Qualcomm Aqstic™ WCD9341...- marcswede

Still, I love the form-factor and that Onkyo makes a move into the phone market. I Hope it's successful so Onkyo continues on this path. Then perhaps we will see smartphones from other audio companies in the future- marcswede

Onkyo is a small company compared to Vivo, ZTE and others who fork out every new model in tens of millions. They can't compete prize-wize with those companies. I think 820 dollars is a fair price for a japanese high end DAP with full smartphone capabilities.- marcswede

Yes, and their optimized for listening at a distance of 30+ cm. I think most phones will fail the noise test when you listen with your ear against the transducer. Especially the louder ones.- marcswede

As I understand it you get higher voltage but not necessarily more "juice" in high gain mode on V10/V20. Please correct me if I'm wrong.- marcswede

ZTE AXON 7-America's First HiFi Mobile Audio & Dolby ATMOS
Hey, Good your happy with you Axon 7. I like mine too despite its software limiltations. Unfortunately ZTE has limited the volume and disabled output higher than 16bit/48K. For the moment this can only be fixed if you root your phone and edit the audio settings yourself.- marcswede

Hi, have you considered rooting your device? My experience from ZTE:s Axon Mini and Axon 7 is that their sound is heavily tuned and output limited, and I have read similar report from owner of Nubia Z11. I am waiting for a simple way root my Axon 7. When that is availible I will try to...- marcswede

Meanwhile, I wonder if LG V20S won't actually come as LG G6..? The G6 is rumoured to have 32/192 capability. http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g6-8466.php edit: I just saw that LG V34 (LG 20S) has a 5.2" screen while the G6 is supposed to have a 5.3" screen, so I might be wrong.- marcswede
