which one will you prefer?
Just my 2 cent's worth. All of them look great, just consider removing the 2 slanted grooves around the + and -, forward and back buttons. Leave the 6 round buttons clean and simple Less is more when it comes to design.. imho. -
beyer t70 & t70p NEW!
Twinster, Good to hear that the HDP is serving you well. How would you say the DT1350 are like compared to the D5000? Before you decide to sell your D5000, consider having a markl mod done to them.- roachbro

beyer t70 & t70p NEW!
Here I am, taking a few months off head-fi and then I decided, hey , I need a decent headphone for home, something for music and gaming. Did some research for an affordable headphone around 200 to 300 dollars, decided on the dt 770 600ohms and BAM! I bump into this thread and now I am saving up...- roachbro

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More
I'm interested in a pair of DT 770s for home, I'm restricting myself to that model due to it being a closed headphone and as much as I would love to try out and experience open headphones, I need to block out external noises (the wife loves blasting her music on the speakers...). I've read...- roachbro

Looking for opinions on the Grace M902
Quote: Couldn't that be due to the D2000s instead? Even after burn in on the Denons, the D2000 has bloated bass so do take that in mind.- roachbro

Headphones best suited for all types of electronic music
I recommend a markl modded Denon D5000 or D7000. This might sound crazy because a lot of people think the mod reduces the bass quantity. That said, that is "partly" true, I was concerned at first because I, like you, enjoy electronic music, some of my favourite DJs are Tiesto, Marcus Schossow...- roachbro

Violectric HPA V200 Why not sufficiently appreciated??
Pardon my ignorance, but why is the V200 listed as discrete-design when opamps are in the signal path? I don't mean to be rude, I'm just curious because from what I've learnt, discrete means no ICs in the design. Am I missing something?- roachbro

The Violectric v282 thread
I noticed on their website description for the V200 that there are high quality opamps in the signal paths. Anyone knows what opamps are they? Really wished the V200 had a stepped volume attenuator instead :/ Edit: Nevermind. I found the dedicated V200 thread.- roachbro

Headamp/Preamp for ~$1000?
I can vouch for the Burson 160D amp and they go well with Denons. I have a markl modded Denon. You can always get the stand-alone amp.- roachbro

Got a little listening time with the Triadaudio L3 w/Pics aka Lisa3 Lite
I'm a bit apprehensive about tube amps. I have not tried them at all. My knowledge of them is extremely limited, what I know is that the tubes have to be changed out from time to time, seems like a hassle and I easily listen to music anything from 8 to 14 hours a day so I'm not sure how that...- roachbro

Got a little listening time with the Triadaudio L3 w/Pics aka Lisa3 Lite
Thanks for the advice estreeter. I guess I'm going ahead with getting a seperate desktop amp and probably get a really portable amp like the rsa mustang for my mobile needs. That said, I would say the desktop amp will get used more during the day compared to the portable amp; my commute is a 15...- roachbro

Got a little listening time with the Triadaudio L3 w/Pics aka Lisa3 Lite
To those of you who have tried the L3, would you think it's a worthwhile replacement to a desktop amp of similar price? Aren't you paying more for the portability or rather, transportabiltiy of the L3? I'll need to do more research of the desktop amps in the price range of 600 to 700...- roachbro

Schiit Lyr Shipping! Impressions?
This is in my opinion, one of the better looking designs and smart at that too. The curved face plate is really attractive, and well you have lesser screws to deal with. That said, it's all cosmetic and what really counts is performance. Never tried a hybrid tube amp. hmmmmm.- roachbro

Yulong D100 DAC - static problem
I got the cables to go one on amazon. Its black, 7 ports and powered. I do think any powered usb hub should suffice though. Everything has been absolutely perfect so far.- roachbro

Review: Yulong A100 headphone amp
My plan for the U100 was to have it set up mainly as a DAC at work to be paired with a good portable amp or used alone as a stand-alone for days that I don't have my portable amp with me. Hence, my concern about it's amp's sonic properties. I could also get a udac2 instead . I'm considering...- roachbro

Review: Yulong A100 headphone amp
Thanks project86 for this awesome review. I've read a couple of your reviews, and your Yulong D100 was what sparked me to get one, and from the same ebay seller as well. I'm fairly new to all this I've recently purchased both the Nuforce HDP and the Yulong D100 for office and home...- roachbro

Yulong D100 DAC - static problem
So I did some trouble shooting and I found out that my USB ports were giving me problems. This was tested using foobar and asio output. I was still getting the static on 96khz with my yulong plugged into the rear of my PC so I switched it to a powered usb hub instead. It's been running smooth so...- roachbro

Review: Yulong D100 DAC/amp - reference quality with a reasonable price
Quote: Makes me wonder if I should just sell my HDP or keep it as a dac and pair it with a nicer amp. It sucks because after listening to both I feel a lot more comfortable with the Yulong. I need a good portable amp for my commute so maybe I'll get a stepdance or L3 when it comes out.- roachbro

Yulong D100 DAC - static problem
I've been getting this problem too. However, it happens even when I'm watching a video on youtube. I need to isolate the cause of the problem now. I've tried it with foobar2k and asio too but it gives the same problem. Itchy5, has it been problem free thus far with the switch to foobar...- roachbro

HTPC Advice, I've chosen the case and already have a DAC, just need some advice on PC's internals
I would recommend getting an htpc, they come prebuilt and some are really decent. There are quite a few brands to choose from. I've been using a Zotac, so far so good, really small foot print if you are into that. However, if space isn't an issue, building a pc in a SFF is definitely the better...- roachbro
