Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Good to know. To be fair, I haven't tried it with manual EQ yet, only Cipher and Reveal. I did try my MX4 and LCD-1 with Oratory's EQ settings. I may experiment with the i4 eventually.- PatrickB

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
I'm trying down to whittle down my headphone and IEM collection and I just decided to let go of my MX4's and listed them on eBay. I was about to do the same with the i4's, but then I gave them a listen with the Cipher cable and remembered how amazing these are with EQ dialed in. Just...- PatrickB

Audeze LCD-MX4
I was comparing my LCD-X 2021 and MX4 and realized I found the LCD-X a bit woolier and mushy sounding so I think I'll sell them. As others have noted the MX4 does seem like a significant step up. However, I've heard the MM-500 is the best tuned Audeze so far and is almost like a planar HD650...- PatrickB

Is this is the 3.5mm? Also, I could be wrong, but I believe MusicTeck would still take these back for a full refund (minus credit card fees).- PatrickB

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.
Well, personally I haven't experienced what I would consider an exaggerated soundstage before and I haven't determined that a wider soundstage would be problematic, but I think that some feel judgement on panning decisions might be harder if the soundstage makes things seem wider or further...- PatrickB

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.
Well, maybe it's just my ears, but the Monarch MKII seems a bit smaller and more intimate than the Mest MKII (using the same silicone tips on each). With the Mest MKII I get more of this sense of 3D with sounds almost floating around outside my head, or maybe what people mean when they describe...- PatrickB

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.
Just listening to a Mest MKII got from @MusicTeck and was blown away by the sound! I have several IEM's and headphones at the moment trying to pick a favorite for mixing and mastering so I've been listening to Monarch MKII, Clairvoyance, Euclid, RSV, RS10, KSE1500, LCD-i4, ER4SR, and Blessing...- PatrickB

Softears RS10 vs 64 Audio u18t
Interesting. I've actually heard a handful of people say they felt the U12t wasn't exactly neutral and might be problematic for use as a mixing reference. I guess neutral tends to be seen as boring or sterile if you're someone who is listening for pure enjoyment. Maybe I'll skip the U12t for...- PatrickB

Softears RS10 vs 64 Audio u18t
That’s good feedback from someone who has done mixing on studio monitors. And cool to hear you’ve done some mixing on them! That’s exactly what I want to try. I believe @HuoYuanJia said the same thing about the RS10 matching his monitors. So this is encouraging to hear. I’ve debated if U12t...- PatrickB

Softears RS10 vs 64 Audio u18t
Appreciate your perspective as I have been in a similar situation and formerly used a pair of ADAM A7x nearfields for mixing and mastering. In the usual pro audio forums not a lot of people have much experience with IEM’s outside of typical brands like Shure, AT, Etymotics, etc. I’m currently...- PatrickB

Big shout out to @HuoYuanJia for his DIY custom foam advice and tutorial and also his review of both of these which piqued my interest as a monitor for mixing my songs. 🙏🏻 I picked up a set of RSV and RS10 from a couple members here and couldn’t get the stock tips to seal. I’m usually a large...- PatrickB

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Yeah, I assumed it was because they are open and therefore are depending primarily on the large driver diaphragm size to create bass vs pressure. Although as was stated above I’m sure the seal and tips do still play a role. I bought mine from a user here and they came with some ribbed tips. I’m...- PatrickB

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I own the HD6XX and HD600 are my main reference, and I also felt they were a bit bass shy. I believe they are tuned more with the Diffuse Field target of neutral in mind (also used by the Etymotics series) and to my ears that target needs more low end. The Harman target variants sound more...- PatrickB
