[HELP] - Cmoy parts advice (experiecnced ppl reply)
i might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that, unless you want to buy resistors in bulk, you can't get metal film resistors at either place. I recomend getting polyester film type capacitors, thats what i got, and i'm verry happy with the sound. a cmoy isn't going to vary too much with the quality...- spott

what did i do wrong?
theres more wires in the final, that was a version before i connected all the switches and the pot and mini jacks. the V- and V+ of the op amps reads approx. 18 V, (i've got two 9V batteries connected) i'm not sure what you mean... i THINK you want me to bypass the pot with wires; tell me...- spott

what did i do wrong?
number one i'm using two single channel op amps, 123's i believe, also i've already checked connections, they are correct ground is connected to ground, right to right and left to left. i've looked over the board looking for unsymetrical wiring but can't find any... i have a suspicion (just...- spott

what did i do wrong?
its not that, only one channel is really quite, also, i've run a knife between all places that there could be a solder bridge.- spott

i just finished building my CMOY, and i can't seem to figure out whats wrong: when i listen with my headphone plug in all the way one ear is loud, but the other is VERY quiet, however, when i put the plug in so that the ground of the socket is connected to the right chanel of the plug, and the...- spott

CMOY & pure alchohol
i've read alot of posts about people suggesting the scrub down of their PC boards with pure alchohol to clean them after assembly, i was curious if this was necessary or if it is a thing to do if you could, but the project would work fine with or without it. I know mine has ALOT of wires comming...- spott

CMOY batteries in serial or parallel ?
what glue did you use? i used model glue for plastic models but it fell out (my case is medal), i've got a REALLY small (3mm) LED so those really thick glues would be difficult to work with thanks- spott

Is EE knowledge required for building a CMOY?
i just built one and i have almost NO electrical knowlege, a high school junior all i know about electricity i learned from one book and 2 days of class notes on resistor s and capacitors in physics, and i didn't even use anything i learned there. You don't need any knowlege however i am really...- spott

Headroom Airhead Design?? Who has it?
let the builder give out the schematic, tangent willingly gives out the schematics for his META amp, and thats his choice, untill headroom decides to give out the schematic for their airhead, or total airhead amps, i recomend you don't reverse engineer it and publish it, if you want to reverse...- spott

impedance question
okay, now to futher the question: the whole theory of impedance is that you want a large output impedance, and a small input impedance so that most of the signal is dropped across the speakers. however, with large impedance headphones this seems counter productive, you don't get as much of...- spott

impedance question
what is the point of making extreemly high impedence headphones (such as the hd600's) from what i have heard, there is no difference, the ER4p and ER4s are the same headphone except the 4p's have less impedence, this doesn't make sense to me, please explain. thanks- spott
