i am looking for CLOSED (must be closed, semi closed don't work) headphones for under 150 dollars.
these are some i'm considering:
senn hd280's
the ety ER6's

tell me what you think of these choices, are they good for portable listening, and which are better.

thanks

How about the Beyerdynamic 250 or Ultrasone 650. They are around $10-15 off budget but are great for portable use.

the ultrasone HFI-650 seems to be the thing to get, those who got them say they are great, however where can i get them thats reputable, i don't want to be buying from this hole in the wall dealer who will take my 165 bucks and run. anyone know of anyplace to get them?

and how much are they?

thanks

and a lot of people (including myself) seem to hate them. The V6 and the HD280s (and the PX series too) are love/hate phones; you'll either love the sound, or you'll hate the sound. I actually didn't like the HD280s much either. Haven't heard the ER6s, but i have faith in them. I'd probably go for the HFI-650s

I have all three. I prefer the HD280, although I seem to be in the minority. The v6 and 650 are too bright and aggressive for me, though the detail on the 650 is outstanding.

All three will do well for portable use. The v6/7506 are very efficient and fold up fairly small, and come with a carrying bag. The 650s are also quite efficient and fold up, though not as small as the v6. The HD280 fold up but are bulkier than the others and not quite as efficient, though I've had no problem driving them with my PCDPs. I've used the HD280 for travelling and been happy, but probably wouldn't use them around town.

has anyone used the ER 6's i'm dying to know if they are worth the buy, cause i would really like that isolation, but i can't afford the ER4's.

someone do tell

Just as far as portability goes, I would suggest the Ety's over the HD 280's. The HD 280's have great isolation, and sound good in my opinion, yet I tend not to use them out and about, because they are so bulky and dorky looking.

Spott, I would contact Jan Meier of Meier Audio. Good guy and head-fi sponser. In terms of portability and isolation I think the ER6s would be the best but sonically I haven't heard both so I can't comment.
