Earbuds Round-Up
I've been listening to the rw-2000 since Friday. Compared to my reference (focal clears OG), they have a dark leaning sound signature and a sort of a "wetness" to their sound. On one hand, this allow them to be very forgiving, on the other hand I find that sometimes guitars lack bite and crunch...- Qualcheduno

Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player
I'm happy to report that after removing the loose shielding my q1 doesn't freeze or randomly reboot anymore! Thanks @Shanling What I needed was a suction cup, a small screwdriver and a pair of tweezers. It took me around 15 minutes and I'm a total noob when it comes to diy, repairing etc. The...- Qualcheduno

Earbuds Round-Up
There is a bunch of reasons: -DIY/Boutique projects like that cannot mass manufacture, so it's more expensive for them to source/make their components -limited supply + limited competition=very rigid offer -people are willing to pay that price- Qualcheduno

The same problem happened to me too. It's a pity that a player with such a good form factor and sound (for the price) is marred by qc issues- Qualcheduno

Earbuds Round-Up
Thanks for the answer! My preferred signature for those genres is either a slightly downward slope or neutral with a bass boost. Harsh/grainy treble is definitely a no-no, but I also don't want my music to sound overly smooth and polite- Qualcheduno

Earbuds Round-Up
Hello everyone, I've been out of the earbud game for a long time, and now I'd like to buy a new pair. I mainly listen to metal, hard rock and synthwave, so what I'm looking for is something easy to drive, with a balanced sound, good bass extension (for a earbud of course), good dynamics (a...- Qualcheduno

My Q1 freezes whenever I try to play a song with the jack inserted, so it's unusable right now. Does anyone know what could be the cause?- Qualcheduno

Earbuds Round-Up
Thanks, but I don't have a Facebook account, and I don't think I'll make one only to buy a pair of earbuds. She wants to be aware of her surroundings, and she's one of those people that can't wear iems. So, to compensate I should go for some bassy buds like the HE150 pro?- Qualcheduno

Earbuds Round-Up
Hi everyone, sorry to bother you, but I need your advice: I'm searching for a pair of earbuds for a friend of mine. What I'm searching for is something that is: -easy to drive (she will drive them with an IPhone) -cable down (she wears glasses) -good mids/vocals but with enough bass to give the...- Qualcheduno

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
I suggest you the Starfield, which has a balanced signature, with a bit of warmth and musicality, bass carries a nice punch but it's not overdone, although not the fastest. Treble is smooth, but rolls off a bit early and doesn't have lot of air. Soundstage is average for an iem but instrument...- Qualcheduno

If the SSP will be a bass boosted diffuse target iem, maybe with a more agreeable 3kHz bump, akin to the ER2XR or the Massdrop Plus, I'd certainly be intrigued.- Qualcheduno

A friend of mine is searching for a new pair of cans. What she's looking for is something: -cable down (since she has long hair and wears glasses) -small footprint, no etymotic ear dildo -good vocals/mids but with a bit of grit and punch to play metal and rock the right way -around 20-30€...- Qualcheduno

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
About the Starfields, some people love them, some people find them boring. I think that's due to the following reasons (a part from personal taste ofc): -earwax: I cleaned my ears yesterday and and my starfield suddenly became more lively, although still on the smooth side of things -volume...- Qualcheduno

Yes, they surely are on the safe side, so for those who are less sensitive than me they can sound boring, BUT I don't agree with you on the bass department, mine reaches pretty deep and hits with a fair amount of punchiness- Qualcheduno

I purchased the starfield from Shenzhenaudio Store on Ali during the march anniversary sale. Everything went pretty smoothly until the package hit Singapore, then the tracking had been stuck to "processing at the international sorting center" for more than two months. So, I've been listening further to my Starfield and comparing it to my HD650, and I tend to agree with the guy here (I don't remember who) who said that the former is a baby version of the latter with better bass extension, with some caveats on the tonality (I will not talk about technicalities...- Qualcheduno

So, after waiting almost three months, I finally received my Starfield. My (unneeded) first impressions: -wow, they look even nicer IRL -can be described as subtle: like the HD650, they don't try to wow you, they don't steal the show, but they simply let you focus on the music. I'm sure I will...- Qualcheduno

The discovery thread!
Let's remember that, since IEMs bypass the pinna, a bump around 3-4 kHz is required to make them to be perceived as neutral in the mids- Qualcheduno
