DAP with a USB input?
Is there a DAP with a USB input (SSD or portable HD)? I did some searching but couldn't find one, so thought I would ask this group. When I travel for long periods of time I would prefer to bring a larger library of music with me.- R_burke

Need help, narrowed down to Audioquest Nighthawk and Sennheiser HD 700
Both are in my price range and I can't decide. I own 7500+ CDs with some in almost all genres, my favorite styles right now are Americana, bluegrass, blues and indie folk, but I still listen to a lot of progressive rock and fusion jazz. My main set up uses a Woo Audio WA2 and my bedroom set...- R_burke

[CLOSED] Chesky Records Singer-Songwriter Voting Second Round
It's too bad that NMBR11 chose this particular video to use. I've listened to their release on spotify via their website and they sound much better than they do in this video. http://nmbr11.com/- R_burke

Need help deciding on a High Res player with DAC for my home system
I am considering buying either a Oppo BDP-105 or a Cambridge Audio Stream Magic V2 for playing High Res files from a USB SSHD. Has anyone heard both or care to weigh in on the pros and cons in a comparative manner.- R_burke

CanJam SoCal 2015, March 28-29, 2015
I searched the thread and couldn't find a listing of equipment that vendors and members will be bringing. There was some talk about it happening, but I couldn't find where it was ever completed. I have some specific desires so wanted to see if the equipment would be there to audition.- R_burke

Looking for bands/musicians who use unusual or creative instrumentation
I can't just let this thread die... so here's two more -
Chesky,Binaural Recordings??
Not sure what kind of Jazz you are asking for, but here is some of each: Fusion Jazz: Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra - might as well start at the beginning Straight Jazz but still new: Christian McBride Semi Experimental but great SQ: Nick Bartsch's Ronin -
Chesky,Binaural Recordings??
You should be fine as long as you aren't expecting fusion jazz -
Chesky,Binaural Recordings??
I have a few of them: CC Coletti, Wycliff Gordon, Amber Rubarth, Bucky Pizzarelli and Jazz in the New Harmonic 1st of all they are Chesky recordings so good SQ, but not a lot of dynamics, they are all very "quiet" recordings. 2nd the binaural aspect is good, but not enough to buy... -
Starting over - and the future of music player platforms
A lot depends upon what your source material is - do you have a lot of CDs, do you have vinyl or is everything already on a computer. Then what equipment do you have - headphones, speakers, amps... If you're truly starting with nothing then get a decent DAP and headphones to start Fiio...- R_burke
