Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704)
Hi, my Master 7 Singularity was bought in May 2017. Firmware has been updated to this “R7tda_Asy_P2_dsdclk.jic”. Currently using SU6 via I2S HDMI. I’m interested in the DI-20HE. I would suppose it will work seamlessly? I play mainly PCM via Foobar on Windows 10. Would also like to know for my...- samuelboy

Ok looks like I will have to give the XOs a miss as I have no soldering expertise to tap on. Shall continue to enjoy the M7S as it is!- samuelboy

Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704)
Nice.... btw, is there any sonic difference/upgrade for the asyn dsdclk firmware over the V3A with the original TCXO? Also, pardon me, very long thread here and not sure if it was shared before... what does it take to upgrade to the Accusilicon? Any soldering required? Where to buy them and...- samuelboy

Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704)
I see. Thanks a lot! There are no jumpers in the S1-S7 pins. I left it as is. I suppose that would yield 8x OS as per original setting. The M7S is fed by SU-6. Unfortunately I did not do a before-after listening to try detecting changes, but I do like what I'm listening now. One thing I did...- samuelboy

Ok I just updated the firmware to the R7tda_Asy_P2_dsdclk.jic. In the download, there are 3 more jic files. Any idea what are they?- samuelboy

Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704)
I have the M7S in its "original" form, that is, direct order from Kingwa and not a modded/upgraded version, bought in May 2017. Can this firmware be installed? Do I need any hardware mod? Is the firmware update reversible? I also saw the notice on Audio-gd website saying those M7S bought after...- samuelboy

Just got a reply from Singxer themselves. —————————— thanks for your email.I am so sorry for the problem you have encountered. The problem you encountered is rather strange. Because the SU6 design is like this, the XMOS output I2S is processed by the FPGA. The FPGA directly outputs I2S, and...- samuelboy

Refer to my post above. 3.20’s dfu app will not recognize the SU-6, so do use 4.13 instead.- samuelboy

Singxer SU-6
I have installed versions earlier than v4.13. They all reside in XMOS folder but their dfu app cannot recognize the SU-6. The v4.13 could. So do use that. After updating the firmware, just run the v4.67. The installation process will prompt you to uninstall v4.13 so you don’t have to do it...- samuelboy

Singxer SU-6
Wow sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. Mine is the M7 Singularity. I did toggle between SPDIF and I2S several times but the I2S remained muffled if that session was muffled... until i unplug/plug USB once or 2/3x to get back normal sound on I2S.- samuelboy

Btw, I had a long series of exchanges with Shenzhen Audio for the past 2 weeks due to some random muffled sound problem with my SU-6. Although many emails, I'm happy that they have been very responsive so far. I copied and paste below one of my emails that more or less describes the problem...- samuelboy

Singxer SU-6
For those already on driver versions just before this latest v4.67, you won't be able to update firmware because there is no xmosusbaudiost3086_dfuapp.exe file in the Singxer folder. You have to uninstall all Singxer drivers and install v4.13, which they don't have it in the download page (can...- samuelboy

Cayin N5 DAP - Product Info (Post #2), Resources (Post #3) and Discussion
Recently getting this message when playing from my playlist. It happens around the same track +/-1... thereabouts. The DAP just froze. I gotta poke the hole to reset it. Any idea whether it's sdcard problem or? Have tried re-flash firmware (v3.2) but still getting it. Also bearing in mind it can...- samuelboy

Just received the SU-1 and set it up. Same crackling/static noise problem. Sigh.... Bad flash? Random device/component malfunction? Guess I'm gonna flash back to old firmware. AND... hopefully the noise doesn't become permanent!- samuelboy

I don't think putting under the pillow is advisable as all the heat generated will be trapped. Yeah apparently i wasn't alone. My post (#2405) regarding the battery indicator being out of calibration since a year ago is still not solved.- samuelboy

Yup, just to convert to SPDIF. I have used the same cable on USB direct vs coaxial via U12, and preferred the U12 path. Hopefully the SU-1 would be ok.- samuelboy

Would that mean U12 is the "culprit"? I am still waiting for the Singxer SU-1 to arrive and if it's the DDC, I really hope the SU-1 works! Come to think of it, before the update I did not have this issue. Hmm...- samuelboy
